On the way to my daughters university graduation ceremonies. one in Missoula, Montana, and one in Portland Oregon, each a week apart.
Anyway this gets a me a Road Trip...Alaska to BC-Alberta-Montana-Oregon-Montana-and back. The trip through Jasper National Park was amazing...

I like this. Beautiful panorama. Has a post-apocalyptic feel. ' the new ice age'

Daniel Boone was a man...

Daniel Boone Homestead is about 20 minutes from our house, so we decided to go up and take a look. These 2 go together:

I decided to go abstract today after seeing the clouds clearing out during sunrise from last night's storm. Taken, folded and spindled with Camera+. Mutilated a bit in Photoshop Elements.

I had a go at photographing people I didn't yet know!

Superb pair of contrasting images. Great colors in the cloudburst sunset and a well executed pano with a limited color pallet. Great combo of photos.

Got a new lens: the famous Canon non-L 100mm f2.8 macro lens. This is one of my tries at macro with that lens:

Canon EOS 500D; 100mm f2.8 macro (non-L); ISO 400; (1/400) f/4.0.

Thanks, Dale. It was during sunrise this morning, actually. I saw the clouds and color while out running and stopped to take a shot with my iPhone. The final shot is intentionally overdone from what it really looked like, though. The strong colors from the "Polarize" effect in Camera+ looked really cool, so I went with it. :) The sun was actually behind me shining onto the clouds.

Is that selective coloring, or is it really that gray everywhere but the island? Either way, it looks awesome.

I can believe it is that grey with just the hint of green in reality. Everything in the scene looks like would be grey naturally.

I think this may be my next lens purchase... someday...

Thanks! It is selective coloring, but honestly, not much... everything else was already pretty drab before I muted the saturation even further which is what prompted me to think of doing it in the first place.
