Here is a 747? Refueling 3 F16's (or F15's, I don't know which ones they are) in mid-flight. C&C appreciated.

They are F15's. F16's have a single vertical stabilizer. There are no tankers based on the 747 airframe. Based on the number of engines, I'd say it's a KC-135R.

Had a wonderful shoot yesterday with a pageant winning model.

Side lighting is not usually flattering unless the subject is a rugged-looking guy- the model's forehead skin texture in this image bothers me. A little light from the front gelled with a CTO would probably help, or a camera angle closer to the light. In either case, it's the only thing that bothers me in an otherwise nice image.

Dandelions in the shade begin to close up in the mid-afternoon. Another of my mid-day excursions in the "back yard" with camera and a single-focal length lens. Since I live way out in the back country surrounded by forest, my subject matter on these little trips usually winds up being vegetation, streams and dogs... ;) But, it's good practice to make myself get out and shoot something, even when it seems like I'm just repeating myself.

Love the colors on this one!

Great shot! Are those fluorescent lights?

Thanks! It's actually a shot of the oculus at the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena.

I like the Norton Simon Museum. Their loot of European Impressionist stuff is awesome, it's like the West Coast Musee d'Orsay. I've also began to appreciate not shooting an entire painting, but zoom in to the most interesting part of it.

Forest stream - redux

A bit tricky handheld 300mm at 1/125th (effective 450mm) and with extreme contrast with sunlight streaming down in a few spots... but figured I'd give it a shot. Nothing ventured, nothing gained...

I know I know. I screwed up the edges of the flower. Out of several copies trying to get the layer mask this one turned out the best.
Anyone know what this particular flower is called?
