Fantastic shot.
The way the horses lead in with the lines of the mountain works really well, and the use of flash on their dark side really adds depth bringing them out from the landscape.
It feels 3D - as though I could step into the picture (or the horses step out of my screen :p) Well done!

Hey guys, this is my very first post. Also, I am new player to the amateur photography game. Let me know what you guys think!

Welcome to the POTD thread.
Firstly, you've found a great subject matter there - a beautiful old doorway with plenty to draw the eye: the decay, the sign above the door, a little scrawl on the wall, and the darkness behind the slats above the door (what could be behind there?). The colours of the building and door are lovely.
On the negative side, the brash modern colours of the bike on the left detracts from the 'ancient' feel of the picture. I would prefer to see the doorway with either the bikes removed, or perhaps one rusty old abandoned bike.
I understand that it's not always possible (or advisable) to start moving other people's property around - so perhaps as the photo stands now, it might benefit from desaturating the bikes - I've attached a quick and dirty version.
This is of course, merely my opinion, but I hope it has been constructive.

Upside to running early: I get to see and photograph scenes like this.

Downside to running early: I don't carry my big camera with me when I run, so I must resort to the iPhone to photograph scenes like this.

I did run 13.11 miles this morning. I accomplished a nice long run and a nice picture for today.
