Flight to London got cancelled yesterday so we had an unexpected trip to the White House!

Here's a photo I took to evaluate the sharpness of my new 70-300L today. It turned out to be a somewhat interesting photo for a test shot

This is North Vancouver taken from the downtown side of Burrard Inlet.

I love these kinds of shots. Beautiful. I can barely believe you shot this handheld! That's amazing (clearly you don't enjoy my next favorite photo the way I do). However, I can't believe you were over 4 Million Km away (EXIF focus distance)! :)

Thanks, I sure am enjoying this new lens! Not sure what is up with the EXIF... I agree so very much with the idea of this forum offering up so much inspiration. It is the one place I visit every day!

pdxflint,
Loved Dos Equis Man!

Took the dogs out to the local ball park and let them run a bit..

"I'm not a puppy... I'm a big girl."

Cuter than all get out! I really wanted to steal this puppy and take her home. One cool thing about all the cyclocross events is the large number of doggie 'spectators.' This one's master was racing at the time, and she was being 'babysat' by a friend. This little pup was all about loving life and a bringing it with a "big girl" attitude.

Thanks...! :) Glad you liked it.
I also really enjoyed your hand-held shot of the boat and dock. It's amazing what can be done hand-held with the right amount of care... I really liked the contrast between warm and cool light, and of course I'm a boat and dock kind of guy... always like the photographic possibilities, which you captured very well.

Very nice! Great light and positioning of the boat; I like how it is pointing us towards the city. I also like how the large avenue at the left gives the photo depth.

A couple of Belgian horses reside at a pasture not far from my house. Here's Ruth. You can see the rest of the pictures I made here.

Nothing special here, I was just testing out my new Nikkor 300mm f4 AF-S lens! I completely forgot that it doesn't have the VR feature. Hand held photos are a bit tough with this guy.
