Very interesting photo. Please tell us more about this one. I know there is something else going on other than a glass of liquid, but I'm stumped. That's hard to do, BTW.

As far as I can see, it appears to be gripped by an (almost) invisible hand.

Here's another one from the Festival of lights... the girls were trying to form a heart with their arms but the shutter speed was not cooperating :(

I really thought at first glance this was super and still do, I must add that it, the roller coaster, looks like it could be made from Legos which would also be really cool.

The colors, composition, the feel of this photo and everything about it really brings back some great memories of a theme park I used to go to as a kid, thanks for reminding me and adding a smile today!

Hey man, this is a really fun picture. Love the light in it. Rebels are quite capable cameras! This is really crisp too.

Thank you for the compliments Jason and Artful Dodger! Sure rebels are great, but slapping a Zeiss 35mm ZE and B+W CPL helped:D The pics of Santa Monica Pier I've been posting lately were the first batch from this setup. I also stopped using LR3 as well and using Canon's DPP for any post-processing stuff. Below is the last of the pic I'll post from that session. Filters can only do so much!

Camera Canon EOS REBEL T2i
Exposure 0.008 sec (1/125)
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 35 mm
ISO Speed 100
Exposure Bias +5/3 EV

This is a result of playing around with a grain filter in Photoshop. The fountain is somewhat like a wooden water channel for a mill, so I decided to go for the "old picture" look in the picture itself.

Really nice, I like the almost cartoon look with the way the light models the scene.

Interesting, the tonal differences and leading lines of the track make this a very compelling shot.
I suspect the CPL played a significant role in darkening the sky and the unusual texture of the snow?

This is the quoted image below.

Is anyone else finding uploading to imageshack incredibly slow?

I finally got some more shots to post. I was browsing around at Photography-on-the.net and happened to see this thread about modifying an old Canon EF 35-80 f/4-5.6 to turn it into a sort of macro lens. I had one laying in the drawer from an old film Rebel, so i decided to give it a shot. These next few shots I have are from this modded lens. This is my first real attempt at macro, so if your have any advice, please let me know.

(OK, sorry, this one actually didn't come from the modded lens. I took it first using the trick of holding the lens up to the body backwards.

Nice light. Are you using any type of filter to get the nice flares?

I just tried and an upload of a photo I posted a while back took around 10 seconds.

Very nice, I thought about going out tonight, but it was cold, ad I am lazy:D

Yesterday, just finished writing 90 pages of research papers in two weeks and finally had a chance to try out my new camera that I got on Black Friday. Unfortunately, the sheer awesomeness of the T2I makes my 4.5 y/o MB cry :(

I'm wondering, did you have your WB in auto or was it preset to something else? This is really great as it seems to give off the four elements in a subtle way (to me at least) :) I'd love to just pull up a chair and sit for a few hours there.

I'm leaving today for a two week trip to Bulgaria! I'll be sure to post daily photos!

Anybody have any good pics from Bulgaria?

Nice balance of light here. Impressive that you got it handheld.

Thanks, I was kind of amazed myself.
I think will be so much happier with this lens. Just the range alone will be much more convenient, and the build is Solid. I look forward to using it today on a walk around Ward Lake with my family. Clear and 30˚ F., I love this season.
