Macro shot of a orange flower:

My shot for today is kind of a miss. Was taking pictures of my cat Stella and was using an open aperture to try to isolate her from the background, which can be tricky when focusing. She yawned when I had my camera out, but with the open aperture I didn't have the depth-of-field to nail the focus on everything that was important. It kills me that her nose wasn't also in focus. Still I like the image, but regret that I wasn't a bit more stopped down when I took it (or that I didn't focus a bit closer to keep both her eyes and nose in focus).

Don't worry too much about it. My nose gets all blurry when I yawn, too. :)

Hehe, thanks for the consoling words. My father-in-law loves this shot. He feels it totally sums up Stella's personality (secretly I think he likes it because he finds her rolling tongue humorous). I'm still plagued by "what ifs" about it though. Could have been better. So close and yet so far....

Tomorrow will be the final Stella portrait (eek, enough with the cat pictures already :) )

Okay, if cats are going to be a running theme now, how about a picture of a cat drawing? :) My daughter, Hailey, likes drawing cats.

Wish I had a bee on a flower in an old doorway way with some camera equipment and a computer keyboard to post.....but no :(;)

That picture above made me think of IKEA, actually.

Meanwhile - I do take photos in daylight - but only if it is worth it:

300mm, ISO200, 1/80sec, F/11. Nikon D3S.

And a sparkling brand-new plane is worth it in my opinion. Qantas has barely had that one for a week.
