What did I do wrong? What is TMIG? Thanks in advance - Russ
It was with a Canon 500mm.wouw, what lens was this taken with?
Thanks!Wow, I know how it is to get the perfect nature shot WITH a camera in hand.
Don't fall into the "I'm only an amateur trap." That word has nothing to do with skill level.... it simply means that you do it strictly for the love of it, and have a paying job doing something else. In other words - you are smart enough to not be trying to make a living making pictures!
I've known "amateurs" who could shoot circles around many many pros, and pros who couldn't shoot a sharp photo if their life depended on it.... they were merely good at marketing themselves.
That is a wonderful photo you've contributed. Personally, I would try cropping the bottom just slightly - just to remove the out of focus bits, or at least most of that bit. That way the photo will read sharp to soft (bottom to top, i.e. near to far). At the moment it reads soft to sharp to soft again... not as clear a message. ... imho, only ....
I like palette, and the story, and the composition. I like the way my eye moves from near figure to the far one, then along the horizon back towards the near figure.
Thank you snberk103 for taking the time to comment and critique my photo, I appreciate it. Your cropping suggestion sounds good.

This is ridiculously nice! Love the whole feel and the two silhouettes really completes the whole thing!
Are there some more from this set?
Nothing wrong. Just a courtesy to other users. In general images > 800 pixels wide break the forum format. These are best posted as TIMG (thumbnail images) instead of IMG. The full size can be seen by clicking on it.

This is a thread dedicated to looking at photos. Why do we have to click on each one to get the full (and intended) experience?
What is the "forum format" and how do linked images over 800 px wide "break" it?
Uploads are limited to 1.44MB, but how do linked images take up space on the MR servers?
This has been discussed before and never resolved. Please post a link to the MR forum rules that limits photos to 800 px. I've looked and could never find it.

Unfortunately I can't split your post and move it to the appropriate location to have this discussion. It is off-topic for this thread, so if you want to actually discuss this, please create a new thread in to Site and Forum Feedback. Or use the Contact Us link to reach the admin staff as well.
EDIT: Here is one thread on the topic if you would like to just add to that. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/585188/

Absolutely fantastic!
