This is fantastic, I love the facial expression!
Love that Seagull shot. I watched a magpie the other day raiding someones bag, well, attempting to until it was quickly cleared away by the astonished owner of the bag.It was a bit too far for me to get a clear shot of it though.
The same magpie (and its partner) are quite fearless - they walk around you and look up at you, waiting to see if you'll give them food.
Now - some weather effects:
1/30sec, 310mm, ISO100
Nikon D3S, AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 200-400mm F/4.0G IF-ED + 8x ND Filter (52mm drop in filter).
A330 and A340 Airbus always get those ribbon like vortices coming off the winglets. It can be pretty eye catching at times if the weather conditions are right.
Great shot, I don't know who went through on a big down-voting rampage, but that one doesn't deserve it!
I like the lighting you captured here.
lucky lens flare ...
That's so cool! What is the source of the red light?
That was lucky!!! Awesome!
Here's another dusk shot at the Cliffs of Moher... a couple of women were taking pictures precariously close to the edge of the cliffs at the time.

Every year , instead of sending out Christmas cards , I do a calender to send out . Try to make the image on each month appropriate for that month . Given my lead times to get everyting composed , printed , and mailed , I've got to start now to get an image for next year's December . Anyway , went over to NYC last night to do the department store window holiday walking tour . Some of the windows are pretty amazing , with animatronics , and interactive cameras . Anyway , here's a detail of one of the windows at Macy's on 34TH.The marionettes are in continuous motion .

Face melter right there. Did you light it or was it lit by ambient? Either way, it's an awesome photo.
This was lit by ambient . I had gone over to the city earlier in the day hoping to do my shots in daylight but had big time problems with reflections off the glass in the windows . Polarizer didn't help as the light angles were all wrong .Would have been great for the self portrait contest but a couple of days too late . So after getting home , I realized that after dark , the windows would be have greater light intensity than the outside , pretty much negating any reflection as the light was coming from inside the store rather than from the street . Went back, moved up the iso some, took my shots .... there you go . Some time you just get lucky.Amazingly there were folks using flash on these windows . God knows what they're seeing on their downloads.

Love the hawks and the owl photos. Wish they were in a higher resolution though. Keep wondering how you are getting shots of owls during the day. See lots of hawks during the day but only see owls in the "wee" hours of the morning when it's still dark. Anyway, enjoy your work. Thank you. Cheers
Not all owls sleep during the dayThe area I frequently visit has only Short-Eared and Snowy Owls as the moment and theres one Great Horned kicked around. only the Short-Eared flies around while the others just sit and soak in the sunlight.
