Wow. This is just amazing! That must be one of the craziest views from a house ever. Look outside and all you can see is the clouds (or is it fog?)!

Thanks glad you liked it!

I've started to get into instagram so I think I'll try and get back into photo of the day considering I am taking at least one a day on my phone.

Aww, that's sweet of you to say, but don't worry...I have plenty of bad pictures hidden away on my hard drive. Some of them you may even see over the next six months, when I'll be taking very few pictures and will therefore be digging ever deeper into my archives to find photos to share.

Yep, it's fog, and it is one crazy view. That's actually a church, not a house, but there are lots of houses at that elevation that would have had the same kind of view. I wouldn't mind living like that myself!

Nice silhouette you caught in your instagram. It 'reads' very well.

Manual editing of those MR links is a doable thing, but it takes effort. One of the PDF tutorials - Restoring Thumbnails - includes hand instructions. It's easier to load either Firefox or Chrome on that PC and use the extension for those browsers. Links for those are in that tutorial, too. Click the link in my sig.

As always, absolutely incredible!

Another browser plugin suggestion is HoverZoom. What it does is when you hover over an image link like those for a set amount of time (or when you press a key like option or shift if you prefer), it opens up a preview of the image. Incredibly useful especially on this forum. Plus, they make it for Safari, Chrome, and Firefox!

"end of the show"

Nice shot, post-card perfect! Lovely colours.

Like some others, I'm running out of stuff to share - but I do like this shot:

ISO200 1/1250sec, F/7.1, 200mm.
Nikon D700, AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor F/4.0G IF-ED, Nikon TC-14E II.

They were fantastic to watch and photograph. :)

Camera: Nikon D80
Lens: 28-300 mm f/3.5-5.6 Shot at 112 mm
Exposure: Auto exposure, Shutter priority AE, 1/30 sec, f/7.1, ISO 250

hand held

I just love this shot. The way the moon casts down its light over the snowy mountains behind the well-lit house... Great job. (Especially for being hand held!) Was this at night, or during the day seeing you're in Alaska?

Mine for today: I just love looking up at the Žilina skyline...

While in St. Louis we took a tour of the Budweiser brewery. Even in early November they already had it decorated for Christmas.

Photo of the Day

So here is my first attempt at posting to this forum.
I took this photo on a very cold October day in West Michigan, hope you enjoy!

Quite a nice ambience. :)

But for me, it needs a bit more contrast - so that the dark areas are darker. Probably the curves tool will get the effect I'm thinking of, without blowing out the highlights too much. That will give a bit more of the silhouette effect.
