Just my opinion, but you have absolutely nothing to apologize for. One of the greatest powers of the camera is to capture the story of life around us - and this photograph does just that. It is frank, uncompromisingly honest, and to my eye neither patronizing nor editorializing.
The photo is incredibly sharp - what lens were you using?
I see lots of people commented on this one. Am I missing something here? All I see is a "This photo is currently unavailable ... flickr" image.
It has only been 7 hours since this photo has been posted, you might want to leave it up for a bit longer than that.
Oh, how nice. That dog has the completely happy, not a care in the world look.

Lots of character here. I'm a real sucker for animals, and he (?) is one friendly looking dog.
BTW... AxisOfBeagles... Loving this shot!
My church hosts an overnight shelter when the temperatures drop below freezing. Tonight we had a special dinner and a movie night for the guests. Here's a shot of one of our guests.
I apologize for adding such a depressing, contrasting picture to all the beautiful landscapes that have been here lately, but that's the picture I have.
Apologies gnd - I certainly haven't removed it, and can see the photo here in the post, and the replies, just fine. I even see it in your reply, in "TIMG" format. Not sure what the prob is

This is nice. The sunlight and the golden mountains draw the eye into the picture and the pink blossom of the bushes with the light shining through gives interest to the foreground. Might it look better with that bit of pink bush on the right cropped out? Don't know, it looks good anyway!

The original has a lot more detail in the trunk of the palm tree than the small version here.
Here's mine from a party on Saturday night/Sunday morning. This must have been around 5 am, when things started to get a bit nutty. I like how relaxed she seems. It's not as sharp as I would have liked it because, save for the one dim-ish purple fluorescent light in the corner, the room was dark and the AF had trouble locking in. I had to kind of guess manually.

Very nice back-lit photo. I usually go for more prominent subjects, but that's just me. I'm really appreciating the ambiance in this one, with the leaves taking some of the power out of the sun and producing a little starburst from it, and with the back-lit bushes adding some pink blush to the foreground. This shot has a lot of depth. I like depth.![]()
Wonderful pic, I love the setting, mountains and lit pink foliage in the foreground, framed partly by the overhanging silhouetted tree branch.
I feel like I could pull up a chair there and down an ice cold beverage... (it's summer down here)
Thanks for the constructive compliments! I do like that the pic evoked a particular mood for you since that's what I was aiming for. I tiptoed a bit to hide the sun behind the leaves because I wanted its light but not necessarily its physical presence.
Below is a shot taken with a B+W CPL so it's very contrasty. I was thinking of toning it down, but then I thought "Nah, let's kick this up a notch".
