Fernbank museum in Atlanta has a special exhibit on mythical creatures. They have various art and artifacts on display. I was happy that they allow tripods inside, so I was able to take some long exposures in the dim lighting. I really wonder how people using flashes with cellphones, p&s, and even DSLR's, are able to get pictures they like.

This is a Chupacabra. The name is Spanish and translates to "goat sucker". It is a blood sucking creature believed seen in Puerto Rico.

Yup. Thanks. Not really what I was looking for but I'll keep on searching.

WOW!!! :D:D Shes scalding hot!!! sexy legs nice hair.... wowzaaaa!!

The girl is hot, but the photo itself is terrible. Shadows galore, can barely see the face, awkward pose just to name a few.

Last day of the month, gotta post something. Unfortunately, nothing special to share. Got a big dump of snow late last week, so spent some time this weekend playing with exposure. Looked for subjects in shadow with snow backgrounds, or on the snow with shaded areas in backdrop. Was using the old rule of thumb - spot meter reading off of the bright lit snow, then come up two stops. Photo is relatively uninteresting, but pleased with the exposure values.

BTW, I thought we were supposed to be doing TIMG instead of IMG?

Timg is for quotes of previous posts. Img for original images.

I'm a fan of abstracts. I don't presume to know what you intended to capture with this, but I have a few similar shots I've taken.

Abstracts are really in the eye of the beholder, more so than conventional images. I know from personal experience that it is really easy to capture something unconventional and have it mean something to you (and seem to express some universal "truth" or invoke a real "wow" moment in yourself), but not do anything for any other viewer. Not implying that this is the case with your image :)

Here is my own example of an image I personally *love* but have yet to find anyone else that gives it a second thought:

Don't get discouraged. Shoot what you like. Experiment. Learn from your experiences. Sometimes it's fun to create things that work for many viewers. Sometimes it's fun to create things that end up only working for you.

As seen at a street fair in Sydney.

Very nice. "Beautiful people" shots don't usually do much for me. I like this one though (something about the veil makes it for me, along with the isolation achieved with the focal length/aperture).

The foreground seems a bit underexposed to me, while the background looks fine. Not your fault, it's a large dynamic range and you have to decide which one is more important. For the foreground to be properly exposed, the background would be (somewhat) blown out. Or you would have to use fill flash/external lighting to get the foreground out of the shade. Or resort to HDR. Kind of like shooting an interior with windows during the day and trying to properly expose both the interior and the exterior at the same time.
