Really like this shot. That big black cloud changes the light dramatically (the way the posts on the jetty are lit, for example). I might be tempted to clone out the light (and reflection) far left... so the eye goes straight to the boat on the right...

That's a well-stocked fridge, sir...

My first thought... I think it's a hobbit hole! :D (Seriously though... very intriguing!)

Nice pic! At a guess, I'd say it's an ice house. Here's one from around my locality, which was used to keep lamb:

Hi Doylem,

That's on the path on the west side of Windermere isn't it? Used to have a caravan on the site on the other side of the path. If memory serves it is either an electricity or water control box. It was once opened up for repairs and there wasn't really that much in there. My parents used to say it was Mrs Tinywinkle's cottage (Beatrix Potter reference).....

You know your Windermere... This little 'house' is near Belle Grange and the Strawberry Gardens caravan park, as you remember. The ferry used to cross the lake at this point, and there's a beautiful 'made' track rising up from Belle Grange to the village of Hawkshead, which, though narrow, was obviously the main road to town until about 200 years ago. No packhorse ponies or pedlars any more, but it's still a good path to walk... :)

Wunala Dreaming is no more:

Handheld, ISO20,000, F/2.8, 60mm, 1/30sec. I waited at night, tracking this thing to see which way it'd fly in - and when it was headed for runway 07 for sure, I rushed to get to the right location and nailed that shot well. I knew the special colour scheme was going to be removed weeks ago, but the photos sadly confirmed it. Angry reactions when I released those two photos - the airline isn't getting good feedback on that. It used to look like this:

I was going to try using a flash for that first image (once the plane had passed in front of me to avoid distracting the pilots), but decided to do the safe option instead.

That looks like my backyard!
Actually it sort of is... It is a trail in the Ward Lake Park in the Tongass National Forest, so it belongs to us all...It is a spot I keep returning to to shoot.

Or probably a couple of Hobbits!! :)
I was thinking Gnomes with red hats and pointy beards....

Mine for today, Got very cold here last week. The Tongass Narrows froze over... Sunrise shot from the Tongass Basin Breakwater.

Participated in a photo group meet at the Georgian Terrace Hotel. What a photo rich environment!
