You should also check out - if you haven't already - The Photographer's Ephemeris. Desktop version is free but you have to pay for the iPhone app. iPad version in the works apparently...

Thanks for this, Joe. I hadn't heard of TPE. Interesting. I'll buy the iPad version when it appears. I'm aware that I like to keep my photography simple and low-tech, but a bit of forward planning is always useful...

The Mustang was such a pretty car. One of my faves from the show. Probably because I used to have a Mustang and I really like the cars.

Spectacular! I'm buying my first Speedlite next week... your recent stuff (including this) is inspiring.

Thanks, VirtualRain. I'm sure you'll have a great time with your new Speedlite, especially if you can use it off of the camera; that's where the fun really begins. :)

Stunning. My favorite this month so far, by far.

Many thanks, Xander562, but do remember to use timg tags when quoting images! :)

You're on a roll with these creative portraits. I've seen a lot of photographers try to pull off the "formal wear on the beach" shot and end up with something that just looks awkward. You managed to make it look quite relaxed and lovely. This is the second shot I've seen of this model. Either she's a natural, or you are a great director of people...or both.

I somehow missed Joe's mention of TPE until Doylem quoted him. Brilliant little app!

Beautiful color palette and very smooth bokeh.

I've been enjoying your series of patterned black-and-white images. I'm not sure about the depth of field on this one, but I really like the forms.

There's also a probably more advanced App for this (that happens to be more expensive as well...): Helios, http://www.chemicalwedding.tv/helios.html. It shows the direction of the sun rays as a Google Maps overlay for any time, not just sunrise and sunset.

EDIT: Just saw that TPE can do this as well, sorry.
