Scanology ?
Was inspired to try something I saw in PhotoLife magazine: http://www.photolife.com/currentIssue.php This month's issue included a piece by Janet Dwyer: http://www.janetdwyer.com/ She has done a lot of photographic work using a flatbed scanner. So, I read the piece and went out to the back forty and found some "subjects". This was my first and only attempt:
I thought this was pretty cool. But like Janet says in her piece, a spot removal tool will be your best friend! In my case, the blue monkshood, to the right as you look at the capture, was full of tiny ants, so I had to spend a bit of time cleaning up... but I thought this was so cool. I did this using an Epson V600... scanned as a Jpeg. Should have selected TIFF. I'll do this again with flowers that are fresher and free-ish of bugs. Janet won 2007 Pilsner Urquell International Photography Award for her work. Check out her link.
