Thank you Madame :) I might crop out the left most tree that does not belong to the main one, and tone down the saturation a bit !?!

I decided not to say anything about the tree intruding in from the left, but since you mentioned it, I'll agree with you. ;) Actually, my initial thought was that maybe you could clone out that bit, but looking at it again, maybe a crop in from left and top would be better. Saturation...eh...looks nice and punchy to me. One other thing you might do is zap those dust spots in the upper right corner. At any rate, it's a terrific shot. Silhouettes don't get much better than that. :)

Recently returned from a trip to Thailand... here's a shot of boats on the Chao Phraya river in Bangkok at night...

I had to pay the sheep ‘time and a half’ for working weekends... ;)

Do they know how to do better image compression. ;)

That image is 848KB, testing my patience with the already slow connection speed I currently have to tolerate. :( ScientistRyan's latest is also a bit bloated at 390KB.

This is a friendly reminder to image posters that not all who view these pages have super high speed internet. If you don't care about that but your a tree hugger, consider that fewer bits transferred saves energy. Thank you.

I bought a LumoPro 160 and some Cactus triggers but had problems with the Cactus misfiring often enough to frustrate me. Hope you don't run into the same problem:( But your reasoning is sound and frugal and the LumoPro is a nice unit. I eventually bought some Pocket Wizards and a refurb 580 EXII and will use the LumoPro as a second flash. Good luck. I enjoyed watching you explore and expand your flash photography.

Here's mine for today. An afternoon storm front moving in on the Museum of Mining here in Butte:

Dont know if you can get these in the us?

YN-460 II

They are pretty decent and cheap as chips...you can get 14 (fourteen)* for the price of one 580 exII

Was pleasently suprised with mine, they have a little pull out bounce card, come well packaged, even have a stand and a little carring pouch..

nice and easy to use just full manual adjust power up and down, only down side is they tend to go through batteries a bit quick so had to stock up on some more eneloops..

Review here..

I wouldn't know where to start in commenting on the photos this month. Absolutely brilliant. Above all I'm enjoying the colours.

Another view of the St. Louis Cathedral. I had to be a bit patient waiting for a clear shot with many other tourists walking through it. I have several shots with people in the aisle because I wasn't sure I was going to get a clear one. I'm very glad the official representative of the church didn't even blink at the tripod as I set it up (not sure he's technically a security guard, since he seemed more of an tourist information type person).

Backstreets of Brum

Took this yesterday on what feels like the first sunny day of the year! click on through for larger image, or the original can be seen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rtpalmi/7624914338/in/photostream

C&C welcome as always! in particular, is the background out of focus, or do you think that was camera shake? Can anything be done about that, other than going back with the tripod!?
