One of our 14 year old twins (the writer and artist) was in a duologue last night that was put on after three workshops over the last fortnight. Here's a shot from that performance. He is on the left and is a natural to Shakespeare by the way.

I set the 6D on shutter priority with a minimum speed of 1/125 and had the ISO on automatic with a range of ISO 100-12,800.

I really have to learn how to use the autofocus on the 6D properly, I spent the whole time centre focusing and recomposing. Back button focusing made it a lot easier, but still there has to be an easier way than recomposing for each shot...

Nice to see another 6D convert! Loving mine.

The centre focus point is the only one that you can trust in low light however, the silver lining is that it is rated to focus on lower light that the ones on the 5Diii.

Back focus button has been great for me as well.

Unless I am shooting close up portraits (where I use the upper middle left point for the eyes) the centre focus point has been the one for me.

Which camera have you moved from?

P.s. isn't it empowering to be able to shoot ISO 12,800 and if it's for web really not have to worry about it!

I'm absolutely loving it and can't wait to get in the city for some twilight shots on a tripod, the quality is just blowing me away!

I've just come from the 60D, so it was a pretty easy move over to it, with most things very similar. It's the amount of tailoring of it that astounds me, focal speeds, focal priorities, etc...

I posted a shot yesterday of my cat (on the previous page) taken in the dark on my desk at ISO 25,600. She had no light on the front of her and yet it looks like she is illuminated and with way less grain than the 60D could dream of over ISO 1,600.

This is a pretty exciting time to be using fullframe DSLR's. It's finally affordable by the masses and not watered down in regard of performance either. The Nikon D600 is a cool bit of kit if you are a serious twitcher.

I can't deny it's a brilliant camera.

This portrait was shot at ISO 1250 as I am currently on the search for nice light within my tiny flat.

Tempted to say that it is cleaner at 1250 than my 600d at 200!

As always, comments appreciated!

I know I'm supposed to comment on the technical quality of the photograph...but, oh my, what a wonderfully beautiful young woman. And the expression is so incredibly devilish...with her most beautiful eyes!

OK, so to save myself from going off topic...the quality of the photo is nice, too.:p

Thanks for the comment. I think that people get too hook up on the technical side of things and it was really nice to just spontaneously see the light was dipping and to sit her by the window and get the shot.

I am a much bigger fan of an emotion or mood rather than a tack sharp image with technical perfection!

Love the way the catchlight really helps the light pop in this spot as well so expect to see some more people captured in the same way hopefully!

Flash on the floor manually set to 1/4 power. Shot deliberately set at f14 to darken the surroundings (as it was quite light).

I'm surprised nobody has commented on this yet. Excellent use of light and aperture to create a very moody shot. I'm tempted to say the subject's half-smile almost spoils the moodiness, but it seems to add a bit of playfulness. Almost as if he didn't want the picture to be too serious. Great job.

My neighbor's pet. Yesterday was the first time I saw her up close and she was completely friendly from the second I saw her. She ran right up to me. She was actually far more scared of another deer in the yard than she was of me. I definitely need to grab some shots of her more often. :D
