What a lovely pic: kinda makes me smile when I look at it (and I'm not really sure why). Nicely seen and put together, and the sepia treatment suits the subject. It demonstrates that there are pictures everywhere, if you keep your eyes open... :)

Wonder if it might be worth cropping a bit off the bottom??
Thanks Doylem! It's high praise coming from you, I've admired your photographs for a while now. I'll have to experiment with a little cropping of that photograph.

And you're right, pictures are everywhere, sometimes subtle, sometimes bold, but everywhere.

I normally don't do black and white landscapes, but I kind of liked the way this one looked:

I'm surprised there aren't other shots of the Venus crossing posted yet. I managed to get this shot from the back of a moving boat while on a dolphin sighting cruise. We had just passed under the 98 bridge that goes over the Destin harbor. The spot on the sun is Venus.

I was worried that we wouldn't be able to see it at all. When we started the cruise it was raining. About an hour or so later it had stopped raining, but the sun was still behind clouds. It finally cleared up just as the sun started setting, and I was able to get some nice sunset shots I'll share later. We also saw a double rainbow during the sunset.

Hello!

I was walking down the side of the boat when a head popped out the window, he saw me and immediately ducked back inside. I quickly raised the camera, framed the shot, focused then said, "Hey, stick your head through there again!" He did, and this was the result. He ducked back in as soon as he realized what i was doing.

I don't know if any of you have ever been to this thing, but you can get some pretty cool pictures here. If you haven't, the first one sets the context for the second, they go together.

I was going to post a sunset photo from Destin harbor today. However, I decided to post this one instead.

I was digging through my closet and found my old Canon AE1 and its FD lenses. I got an adapter and threw my Canon FD 28mm 2.8 onto my Nikon. The result:

The lens definitely needs a cleaning. Looks like I have some haze built up, creating a softening effect. Otherwise it came out well, considering the glass was built and sold in the 70s. I think I'll get a dandelion chip for the adapter and see if I can get some decent TTL exposure metering.
