Nice shot, what lens did you use for this? Amazing detail over the wings.

I used the Canon 70-200mm IS f/2.8 lens (not the II). It was just the right lens for this event since 200mm was just the right amount of zoom when the planes were at their closest. Actually, I had to back off a bit sometimes for the group shots to get them all in the frame.

Here's another group action shot as they were peeling away one by one. I like how I got one that had already left formation in the background just as the next one started to do the same.

Reviewing my images, I think I'm a B&W person. I don't really use color to the best effect and what catches my eye seems to be things rendered best in B&W. Not saying I'm great at B&W either, but it's where I'm gravitating these days. Been reviewing some of my old captures and looking at them in B&W. This is a cruise pic from 2010 converted to B&W. Passed over it initially, but liking it more now.

Took this at work today. I only had my iPhone 4S but I really wish I had my D3100 with me! Picture still came out awesome I think. Edited with Camera+.

Great layered landscape. Have you considered cropping the bottom?

Lovely shot - well framed and all of them captured in crisp detail.

I want to take my D800e out to an airshow when it is back from repairs, but all the airshows around here are about as interesting as watching grass grow. ;)

This one here shows a lot of use of the shadows/highlight tool from the look of it, and that detracts from the shot a bit for me. It's a fine shot otherwise. Just my humble opinion though.

I like this as well, but my favorite is still the single jet shot. Thanks for the lens info, I picked up a Canon EF 70-300mm DO, but am unimpressed with the focus I've been getting out of it. May be mostly me though, I'm still getting used to it.

I hope you like the one I share here, then. This time you see the plane from underneath.

There wasn't much histogram range from the camera, so I did have to work with the levels to get it to look right. I brought up the shadows some, but not a huge amount, so you could see some detail that was there.

Now that is a good shot! :)

One from the rained out Vivid festival in Sydney. I was sick at that time and not a happy camper. ;) The rain and a nasty stomach upset got the better of me.

ISO6400, F/4.5, 16mm, 1/15sec

What you are seeing there is Circular Quay railway station, with the AMP tower lit up in blue (on the left).
