I'll go ahead and get my last bird out of the way. That way I can move onto the ubiquitous duck shots. :D

This poor guy (or gal? I can't tell with robins) must have been injured. he(she)let me get within about 10 feet before he slowly hopped on some brush and just sat there.

Question, is that from a 600mm lens or is that from the crop factor? What lens? Using a TC? Just curious as my 300mm is essentially a 480mm and if I get a TC I can get 960mm for short money. Just wondering if you are using a TC and if that is giving you a hit anywhere? Looks pretty sharp!

Nice shot.

Thanks.

I took the picture using my friend's Canon EF 600 f/4 on a Canon 7D, no TC.

Denied

I just installed a squirrel baffle on my rodent abused bird feeder. So far, it appears to be working.

Well framed with the subject just a bit off to the right. I like the colors here. Maybe a bit more fill light to give details to the shadows?

Thanks Dale. I will try that next time.

This is my first post in Digital Photography, I hope you enjoy. I'd really appreciate any feedback anyone can offer.

I like this. You have used the light on the goat to make him stand out from the background. And, well ... it's a goat!

great capture of the amazing colouring on this bird!

Still on nature ... we were down in Cornwall a couple of weeks ago and the bees were already busy on the heather. I liked this guy's cool shades.

Also, this was taken with a tripod and I liked the sharpness I got.

Sorry I forgot to copy over the EXIF data to Flickr for this set ...

This one is fantastic. Although, I feel, to make it perfect, it's missing just a little je ne sais quois that's hard to describe. Maybe either punch it up or mute it down just a bit, one of the two? I feel like it's straddling between the two feelings ever so slightly.

Arrrggg! Makes me miss sailing. Great shot!

Here's another portrait of my gal. Any comments on the processing would be greatly appreciated, as always!

I love the atmosphere in this photo and the way the sunlit path leads you on into the picture. The b&w treatment really adds something.

That's great! You didn't need a fast shutter speed for him did you? :)

Beautiful! Love the layout and the way the colours of the bird and the water are almost the same.

Thank you for your comment :) Yeah unfortunately the picture is very disappointing in colour! But it just works in black and white :)

Ok, so this won't be as good as some of today's great postings, but this is the first picture with my new 5DII.:). Work and weather have conspired to prevent me from getting out. In spite of the a cloudy, gray day with threatening snow I grabbed this photo of one of our old mining sites. This is know as a gallus frame and it was the main hoist for the cab that dropped the miners down into the mine shaft 1 mile deep.

My daughter's drama class had a public performance of their class show titled "This Is A Test". I caught my daughter "cheating" during the test. :)
