yesterday, I convinced the wife I needed a Canon EF-S 10-22mm lens for our upcoming trip to California. This lens cost more than the camera. Today in Rainy Washington, I took this, well this is really 3 pictures at 10mm stitched together. Mobile me upload did not do it justice.

Cool shot(s). That's a great lens... Particularly effective for taking shots of large monuments etc from up close... An application for it that doesn't always spring to mind. BTW, I agree about MobileMe... I expect more from Apple. Their quality for hosted images is terrible.

Here's my contribution for the day...

LOL. ahaha I will have to grab the wife and show her these comments lol.

You lost me at "grab the wife". ;)

The HDR certainly adds a lot to this image (well, im assuming its HDR). It brings out the texture nicely. I see a bit of chromatic aberration in some of those pillars in the door. Any idea why it's so strong?

Yes, I used HDR. There's aberration probably because I didn't spend a whole lot of time putting together the HDR. I put it together in Photomatix and didn't spend a lot of time with it in PSE to clean up anything afterwards. I mostly cared about lights leaving too bright a spot on the wall, and that didn't happen with this room like it did the others. I'll have to go back and do some more careful cleaning up when I have time.

I really dig these crops. Gives me an idea to play with (ie. rip-off) once the weather and this gross slushy snow clear.

Renewed my fascination with architecture, specifically repeating patterns and lines.

Canon EOS 60D

f/5.6

ISO250

Not usually a huge fan of architecture photography, but this one draws me in. I like the colours the most!

Another shot of the Biters from SXSW, this time in a radically different style.

^^^ Interesting crop... I like it.

Thanks guys, I'm a really big fan of Peter Lik's horizontal pano work (http://www.peterlik.com/photography/horizontal). I can't afford all the expensive pano gear he shoots with, but atleast I can try replicating the look and style of those images by cropping. Hopefully once this semester of college is over I'll be able to visit some more photogenic landscapes during summer break. For now I have to work with what's around here:p

Very interesting pano. I think I would like it even better if the subjects were a bit off center. Otherwise, I like it a lot.

OK, so here's mine for today. I tried taking some still life photos, and this one came out OK I think.

Canon EOS 1000D/0.04 sec (1/25)/f5.6/33 mm/ISO 800/Flash Off
Well framed with the subject just a bit off to the right. I like the colors here. Maybe a bit more fill light to give details to the shadows?

Very interesting graphic quality to this photo. I like the colors and framing. The window frame in the upper left corner looks like it is an image within an image.

Some great work in this thread!

First shot in a while:

Great use of leading lines to pull the eye into the frame.

Nice minimalist shot. Gives context to how meek we are in the grand scale of things.

This is my first post in Digital Photography, I hope you enjoy. I'd really appreciate any feedback anyone can offer.

Thanks, I was trying to draw from the buildings inspiration of a cruise liner; the dark slanted wood, hard grey/blue metal, tried to express that the best I could.

Ok, so another bird shot. Winter is almost (not yet) over here and birds are coming in slowly, so it is gradually starting to be bird photography time .

Photo taken last friday in Montebello, 600mm, ISO 250, f/7.1, 1/250sec

I think the scenery in your area is quite nice. Lovely pic.

I think that's what you call tack sharp. :)

Question, is that from a 600mm lens or is that from the crop factor? What lens? Using a TC? Just curious as my 300mm is essentially a 480mm and if I get a TC I can get 960mm for short money. Just wondering if you are using a TC and if that is giving you a hit anywhere? Looks pretty sharp!

Nice shot.

I love the talent from this forum! Thank you all for posting your photos, it's been great watching the growth in you regulars!
