This is nice. Was the texture "muddy" like it often is over here in New England?

Here's a submission for today, taken inside Trinity Church in Boston, MA:

It's been a while ...

Haven't had a chance to check in here for a while, so spent the last little while catching up. Some great stuff here. Otter, I particularly like your Australian photos.

Here's one I took in Australia last month. It's the naval dockyard in Woolloomooloo bay, Sydney. This crane fascinated me with its heroic scale.

^^^ It's Spinal Tap's last gig... second on the bill to a puppet show... :)

Thanks... The 'sands' of Morecambe Bay are a mixture of sand and mud (but mostly mud...), and very unpredictable. Every year people die in the quicksands: not a good way to go... :(

More patterns... Just enjoyed the painterly patterns in this coppiced woodland...

Crisp and cool yesterday, and saw this guy sitting atop the 1st Lutheran Church, one of the shots I have wanted to get... Love the mid afternoon light at this time of year.

I really want a sharper Telephoto Zoom, I am hoping Santa will bring me a

Enjoyed a week's vacation in Washington, DC earlier this month. Our hotel was in Foggy Bottom. Beautiful district. This was taken early on our first morning...

This is an early morning shot near the Kumomi harbor. Two big rocks with Mt. Fuji behind them.

What do you guys think of this one? I'm not usually one to center the subject but i felt for this shot it was needed. I do wish there was another tree in the left foreground to frame it up better, and it could be a bit sharper, but other than that, i like it. What do the experts think? I'm still learning.

The reddish leaf is a bit distracting... And the subject is kinda boring. I'd do a tighter crop, especially with a mundane subject such as... rotting wood.

Here's another from Trinity Church, this one showing the ornate glasswork on the entry doors:

Thanks for the feedback. I agree that the leaf is distracting. If i had some more powerful editing tools than iPhoto I would try to take it out. The stump is actually not really rotting, its charred from what I assume was a controlled burn about a year ago. I was going for the contrast between the burnt stump with the bright colors all around it. I guess the concept didn't really make it all the way into the finished product. Oh well, live and learn, practice makes perfect, and all of the other sayings. Thanks for the input.
