Never mind the dinosaur leg... she's gorgeous... ;)

I'm not usually a fan of making big changes after a pic has been taken... but I'd be tempted to play with the 'content aware' brush in PS, and darken the background on the left side. The purple patch, top, and green circle, bottom, distract the eye from the soft lighting on her face and her natural expression. Worth a few experiments, I reckon...

I will definitely experiment with it. I am about to go out of town for the week of Thanksgiving, but I'll keep it in mind for when I get back.

Here's another lady I had pose for me to take advantage of the available lighting.

This is incredible! So crisp and vibrant! Can you provide a bit more background information on what's going on?

Mine for today: this was totally a throwaway shot as I was messing around with the camera, pointing it in various directions without looking, as my friends and I took the Rokko Cablecar down from Mount Rokko, in Japan, on our way to Kobe. We had done a whole self-directed circuit, randomly, that day, going in a big loop from Osaka to Arima to Rokko and finally dinner in Kobe before heading back. With a bit of fooling around in Aperture, I came up with something that I really like.

Friday I picked up a Nikon D7000 and played around with it for a bit. Saturday I drove four hours to Racetrack Playa in Death Valley, CA to revisit a shot I took a couple of years ago. I was nearly to my destination when the setting Sun was doing its magic in and around the mountains. I pulled over and took a test shot and "Err" was all the camera would tell me.

I fiddled with it for a bit and threw it back in the bag in disgust. A bit further there were beautiful pink and orange clouds over Racetrack. I took some shots with my D60 and further investigated the D7000. I found that it would take a picture with the aperture set fully open but stopping it down or pushing the DoF button would cause it to error.

I got to the south end of the playa and settled in. I waited a couple of hours for the Sun to fully set and for the other people there to leave. I bundled up and trudged out to the rocks. Considering that the area is nearly three miles long and two miles wide I was presently surprised when I found the same rock I had photographed previously. The track wasn't as pronounce after two years of weathering. I found another one with a better trail and that is the one pictured here. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get both the stars and the rock into focus with the malfunctioning camera but it still made for an interesting shot.

EDIT: Oh and this is the JPG off of the camera (slightly sharpened and cropped) - I can't seem to open the RAW file either. =/
