More fun with fog...

Gorgeous... You call it fog... but I always associate fog with 'pea soupers' in the city (in the bad old days when every chimney belched out smoke). Isn't this mist? The other expression I know is 'cloud inversion'... when mist clings to the valley, so you can walk through it... and, like this, view it from above...

Great shot. I love taking pictures in Grand Marais along the break wall. Last time I was there in the early evening there were some great photo oportunities. Unfortunately I was in the process of having my stolen camera replaced...
Love it! I was through there in the early 60s on the way up to Gunflint Lodge and into Canada from there. Beautiful country!

Attention Firefox Users

Version 8 of Firefox isn't compatible with the AutoTIMG extension that revamps the MR code to show thumbnails in photo quotes. I will inform the author by PM. Until it is revamped, either use Chrome, Safari or change the code by hand. The link below tells how to do that. It's on page three.

Magical as always. You are a mistress of light effects in all of your photos. They are both a joy and a learnning experience.

You may not believe how much these comments mean to me...just so you know...they mean a lot. :)

Well, it's this layer of thick white stuff about 1,500 feet off the ground. It completely obscures the sky from below and looks pretty darned cool from above. ;) I dunno, I'm no expert. I moved here in 2004 and still haven't quite learned the language, but in these parts they call this white stuff "megla," which translates to "fog." :)

Fantastic capture! Surreal.

Hmm. Maybe it's because I have 8.0.1?

Thanks mackmgg for your speedy fix! :)
I've uploaded a new version, I ended up removing the max version limit entirely, so we shouldn't run into this problem any more.

Pilgrims Church, Delfshaven, Rotterdam. The sign on the church wall says: "This is the starting point of the 'Speedwell' on which the pilgrim-fathers sailed to England on August 1st, 1620. They changed the boat there for the 'Mayflower' bound for the New World." I have a friend singing there in a choir next month and I hope to make some shots inside.

From the Henry Ford Museum: President Eisenhower's 1950 Lincoln "Bubbletop"

President Truman first rode in this convertible Lincoln. President Eisenhower later had it fitted with a removable transparent top that allowed him to see and be seen even in bad weather. "Bubbletop" soon became the name for the whole car.
