Found this little character in the garden today moving very rapidly amongst some herbs in the herb spiral. Handheld in deep shade, no flash.

Another Naples pic.

Funny story behind this one. This was a block or two from our hotel. There is an intersection midway in the frame. The Metro station was along the street to the left. When we were coming back from the archeology museum we reached the intersection (where the car is) and were going to turn left to walk into the photo towards the Bay of Naples (where the motorcycle is). A shopkeeper came out and stopped us, explaining emphatically with gestures that it was not safe to walk down that street. We elected to follow his advice.

To get back to our hotel we had to walk up a flight of steps. Shot this from there. Evening (about 7 pm local time). Exposed for the street/buildings knowing that the sky was going to be blown out as a result.

Took some photos of the opening of a new RSPCA charity shop today. Pretty pleased with how they came out.

Is thus your daughter? I'm always a bit wary of taking pictures of strangers kids. People can draw the wrong conclusion.

Here's mine for the day. I thought summer was gone. Had the worst lighting all day. Then about 2 pm the sun burnt through and suddenly I was in the car heading to a local park. I tried to capture the dragonflies, but all I ended up with was tall grass. Anyway I liked the look of this cloud, so here you go. As always comments appreciated.

Nope not my daughter. She was the daughter of one of the volunteers. They invited me to take photos of everything and that's what I did.

Here's some random people waiting for the tube in Baker Street station.

At first glance I though this was the leg and claws of a funky coloured Godzilla. :) Well done John.

I really like this!
Thanks Puckman.

My shot for today:

Nice shot with great colours. I'm really enjoying the macro insect shots that are being posted lately.

The kind of touristy stock shot that sells better than my landscape pix...

I love the whole "beer garden" concept Doylem. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to matter how hard I try...I just can't seem to get it to grow in my backyard. :(

Looking underneath the front end of the caterpillar I posted above yesterday. Still handheld, no image stabilisation, no flash, in the deep shade of the herb spiral. To those tempted to try macro on a budget, it is possible with a little practice and patience.

I've missed posting in this thread! I'm a teacher and this month has just been hectic (horrible) so I've barely had any time to think about photographs!

This was taken with a Lumix TZ40.

This is my first post on this thread. There are some very talented photographers on here! I just got my iPhone 5s yesterday and I have fallen in love with its camera. I will post here daily.

This is a photo of my niece that I took yesterday at the "Arts in the Heart of Augusta" in Augusta, Georgia.

Nice shot. Very atmospheric. Just goes to show that you don't need an expensive DSLR to get a great photo.

It certainly is. Very nice find.

Like others, enjoying your macro work. Keep up the good work.

I finally got to do some shooting worth sharing. Most of my latest photography has been church stuff for the website, which isn't that exciting for sharing here. However, Friday I met with a local photo meetup group at a local fair.

To continue on from the Macro and flower themes above.

Also shot hand held with my kit lens. I was going to buy a telephoto, but I'm now leaning towards a dedicated macro lens for Christmas.
