Also shot hand held with my kit lens. I was going to buy a telephoto, but I'm now leaning towards a dedicated macro lens for Christmas.

I just got the Canon EF-100 Macro this past week. Absolutely fell in love with that lens and the shots it manages. Both macro and portraits. Cannot recommend it enough if you're looking for something along those lines.

This is just gorgeous!

Nice shot. Very atmospheric. Just goes to show that you don't need an expensive DSLR to get a great photo.

Thanks  it's my girlfriends camera as she had it with her - which backs up that famous phrase of the best camera is the one you have with you!

Here's a photo from Rhodes in August, this time with Sony Nex 5n.

Played around with a bit of deliberate lens flare at the weekend. You know the sort of stuff JJ Abrams likes!

What do you think? Adds to the shot or too distracting. I quite like it.

As always comments appreciated.

Houseboat at dusk

4.jpg

Camera Canon EOS 5D Mark III
Lens Canon EF 14mm 2.8L USM
Focal Length 14mm
Shutter Speed 1/1 secs secs
Aperture f/2.8
ISO/Film 500

Shot on a hot night at Shasta Lake. Because of the heat, the shot looked like it was shot at about 2000 ISO. Using image averaging I was able to reduce the noise close to a 200 ISO level.

I love this! So wide!

Beautiful day in the Yorkshire Dales yesterday. Seemed like every motorcyclist in Yorkshire was out and about. At this time of year you never know when the great riding season is going to end.

First photo with new Fuji X-E1!

Dublin2013-%20664_5_6_fused.jpg

Have finally started the change over from Canon to Fuji. Long weekend in Dublin, including the ubiquitous trip to the Guinness factory.....took this in the machine room. I have to say, I'm amazed with the low light capability!
The shot below was hand held and the X-E1 is certainly pimping my ability...

Frosty dove.

So, your post says you edited it to add the salmon. I reckon then that's a photoshop job and the one you caught was >this< big! :p :D

YOU - are a funny guy. That's not me or my salmon ! Made me laugh though !

I wish I had taken this shot. I love the light and the composition. Did you do something in PP ?? Also like your B&W shot today.

Nice bike, lovely photo. The road behind the bike was just such a nice touch. There have been many lovely shots in recent days.

So mine for today... I came into the kitchen to eat my wheaties this morning, and this dove was sitting on the frosty rail. So I managed this capture through the window. Cant get over the fact he was just standing there in the cold. It was -2°C this am.
