Also shot hand held with my kit lens. I was going to buy a telephoto, but I'm now leaning towards a dedicated macro lens for Christmas.
Another fly from the back yard this time. I could have cropped in really hard and had the fly fill the frame, but I prefer it this way.

Nice shot. Very atmospheric. Just goes to show that you don't need an expensive DSLR to get a great photo.
The same flower, in b/w, with a small addition in the form of a honeybee.

Spent the morning at the beach yesterday. A few shots taken.
Some C&C welcome. More specifically, does this look like too much saturation? I can't decide.

Camera Canon EOS 5D Mark III
Lens Canon EF 14mm 2.8L USM
Focal Length 14mm
Shutter Speed 1/1 secs secs
Aperture f/2.8
ISO/Film 500
Shot on a hot night at Shasta Lake. Because of the heat, the shot looked like it was shot at about 2000 ISO. Using image averaging I was able to reduce the noise close to a 200 ISO level.
Perfectly saturated I'd say. Lovely shot.
So, your post says you edited it to add the salmon. I reckon then that's a photoshop job and the one you caught was >this< big!![]()
