Runestone, Vist Kyrka, Ulricehamn, Sweden, 30 August 2025.
Christianity was present here a thousand years ago, when the runestone was erected, and has been ever since. This is one of the so called England Stones, since the inscription refers to a man who died in England. The swastika like centre is accidental and has nothing to do with what we know today.
The inscription: + gÍRÍ •sati •stin •þana •eftÍR •kuþa •bruþur •sin •eR •a o k •lanti •altri •tynþi x
Normalisation: Gæiʀi satti sten þenna æftiʀ Guða, broður sinn. Er a Ænglandi aldri tynði.
Translation (my own): Gere erected this stone after Gude, his brother. He ended his days in England.
