Sad if the next iPhone will just look like this, I thought Steve Jobs poured his heart and soul into the next phone and it was said to be groundbreaking.

This is just the same design as the iPhone 4 and 4S?

They need to change the design a little more, people do get tired of the same old thing, however no matter what people say, every release they seem to keep selling tons of these things.

I wonder what will be the tipping point to where people get tired of this old design and stop buying the iphone?

Just between you, me and the water cooler - I don't know about the people you hang around with but the 'normal' people I hang around with don't seem to be signing about the lack of the iPhone changing its shape radically thus opting to go for a competitor. The current iPhone design like the current MacBook Pro and iMac are good designs - sure, there will be a few tweaks around the edges but the fundamentals are strong so why change simply for the sake of being different unless there are material benefits at the end which benefit the consumer?

Huh. I'd bet anything there would be complaints whatever this phone looked like. You simply cannot please everyone. Can some of you stop being so dramatic.

The one thing that just doens't seem right with these phones is how anti apple it seems. so many new seams and components.

For those who still think the screen is weird or sitting on top of the iPhone, that's because it is.

Click on the image and look closely. It's clearly unattached to the iPhone.

Please look at the top of the iPhone, there it seems the screen is actually in the rear case. I'd say it's very likely that the screen actually sits inside the body

Uh, that's exactly how it is in the 4 & 4s. The glass is above the metal frame. Why would it be unusual that they aren't changing it. In fact, I've found that my current case sticks out too far above the screen, making touch screen use problematic at the edges. The same goes for having a slight gap between the actual edge of the screen & edge of the glass. If the screen went right to the edge, then any protective case would keep you from using the touch screen properly.

As for whining about the back being part metal, it won't break like the glass, and the glass panels at the ends may very well improve reception of some of the other antennae. Particularly since it looks like the frame is no longer an antenna.

I really sincerely hope this isn't it. And I don't mean it in the same way that was said when the iPhone 4 design first leaked. That was beautiful.

This? Who the heck wants a taller phone? I want a bigger screen, but I don't want JUST a taller screen.

Such an odd design, why does it need the giant bezels still? Why even bother making glass sections on the back that small? Terrible.

i like it but i do agree with you on the bezel. i mean...you're just giving up space there. go full frame...or make the bezel an image that you can turn on/off. imagine going full iPhone front, even encompassing the home button and the speaker. that would be cool.

i like the width and i can see why apple kept it. a little wider wouldn't have been horrible but i imagine apple is doing this for a reason.

I like the way it looks. Let's see how many people that first said it would be ugly and they didn't want a bigger screen say how much they love it now with the looks and big screen. Lol

I love it. The only thing that bugs me is the lack of symmetry at the bottom with the left speaker having a smaller grill. :p

I just wish T-Mo would farm the 1900Mhz band sooner so that I can dump my Samsung and get this beauty!

Tim's new 'Increased Security". Misinformation. ;)

Didn't he say they were going to go to "extraordinary lengths" to keep new products a secret? "Leaking" a fake phone and feeding it to tech blogs and Chinese garbage accessory manufacturers seems like a sneaky idea to throw everyone off the scent. The accessory manufacturers crank out cases to add legitimacy to the farce (because they just want a piece of the action), and the tech blogs report it anywhere/everywhere to get people talking about it (because they too want a piece of the action).

Brilliant.

Say what you want, but, I still think that this is all a controlled leak of a prototype to fool us and the new iPhone will look nothing like this. I am being optimistic here! :)

what a disappointment...

 I really hope that's not really it. I'm bored of my iPhone 4, but this looks like a cheap knock off of the iPhone 4 (S) but duller... boring, boring, boring. If thats what's coming, I'd rather wait another year :(.

Time to be realistic.

We all know this is likely to be the new Iphone.

It's widely reported over the internet and it looks the real deal this mock up.

And just because it is widely reported on the internet, it qualifies as the truth? Wake up bud!

Screen is not big enough.

This is EXACTLY how I feel...about the screen and about Jobs. For those of you that think he was just a great marketing guy, read that book. He was essentially the ultimate in quality control and the reason why Apple's products were always more polished than everyone else's. He wouldn't accept anything less. Deadlines didn't matter. People's feelings didn't matter. He was a dick but we benefited because of it. He was completely uncompromising and that is what led to the greatness that we've come to expect from Apple. I'm very worried that a lot of things that are good but not great will be slipping through the cracks now and Apple won't be the same.

They should be the same. Jonathan Ive and all the other high Apple people should keep the company as Steve left it.

All I want is the iPhone to come to T-Mobile. Then Apple takes my $200 on a new 2 year.

This. T-Mobile is the only of the 4 major carriers that has great data speeds and reasonable monthly prices at the same time. It would be a mistake for Apple to continue to allow Android to have a whole carrier to itself.

Oh you guys are funny with your hate and skepticism of this leaked design. It will 100% look like the pics.

Remember this thread from 2010? Look what people said about the iPhone 4 leak...
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/899393/

I'm still not a fan of the iPhone 4 look. And I don't like this one either.

Does that mean I'm not going to get the new iPhone? No. It will still perform and function to my desires, I just won't like the look of it.

I guess that's why they make cases....

If every consumer bought products based on looks the Hummer SUVs would still be in manufacturing. No one bought those for their performance.

Maybe it will look better in person, but just going off these photos...I really don't like it. If this turns out to be the actual phone, I will probably wait another year or two (when they'll hopefully change the design) to get an iPhone. Hate me all you want, but I'm not going to buy something I don't like.

I don't own any Samsung phones but come on...what are they really copying at this point? They're way ahead of the game at this point. The GS3 looks nothing like the iPhone. The screen is 1.3 inches bigger, the back is curved, the home button is completely different, they have about half the bezel of the iPhone if not less. They have many features that Apple hasn't even touched upon. I wish it wasn't the case but it is. Stop being ignorant. Apple needs to catch up in a major way.

What are they copying? Everything they think they can get away with.

Oh, and there are only two reasons for making grossly oversized (5"+) Android phones.
1. Because Apple isn't doing it, and
2. Because Android tablets aren't selling
