I'm hoping the battery is better than this. I'm also hoping the iPhone's battery indicator becomes more accurate.

Power efficient or not the battery needs to have a some increase then 1430 mAh that the 4S currently has regardless LTE will put a strain just like UMTS and HSPA did for a while

Thats just a pipe dream we will never see that anytime soon the trends are moving away from removable batteries,Droid razr maxx lumia 900 HTC One X etc

I was just being a goofball :)

I don't haven't had the need for a removable battery, charge at night, use all day, works great for my iPhone and iPad.

IT'S JUST AN ELABORATE HOAX

</delusions>

If you think this isn't the new iPhone, you're mad.

It's so refreshing to finally be able to read comments of a news story that mentions the 'iPhone 5' and not see the same tired, "It's the iPhone 6, not 5!" comments.

Im so tired of these incremental releases, part after part. So surprised no one has taken them and put them all together to give us a full iPhone 5.
I concur.

Sadly the entire phone is comprised of nothing more than tiny incremental improvements.

While not necessarily bad, it's a joke that they lengthened the screen without widening it. You've got to laugh, it's so absurd.

In Portrait mode, you have the benefit of more viewing area...

In Landscape mode, you have _no_ change... it's half assed.

All they did was make it taller! It's the same 2 year old design! Nobody is going to buy an iPhone if the battery is just a little bit taller! The design is getting stale! Half an inch isn't enough! I want them to expand the size of the battery horizontally too! I need a bigger battery! The S3 has a bigger battery!

Please stop, now. You havent ACTUALLY seen the phone yet have you? I didnt think so. So stop assuming things man. Geez:rolleyes:

****. They really messed up. The battery on the iPhone 4S is not very good. Throw in LTE, a larger screen, more technologies...

Look, I'm sure it's going to be a great, lovely and wonderful product. I just wish that Apple pay a little more attention to heat and battery.

So no AuthenTec fingerprint scanner and no NFC chip to go with it then. Guess we know what's in the 5S. Looks like the tooling's already there, like with the iPod touch (was it?) which shipped with space for a camera but no camera.

Well that's 2 years of design done and a spike in profit in the second -- hope the iPhone 6 will be really special.

However the battery capacity is so marginal to begin with and even worse for a LTE based device, this is clearly an area of needed improvement.
1. The new LTE chip is more efficient (source: Qualcomm).
2. The display is more efficient (source: Sharp).
3. The CPU/GPU is more efficient (source: Apple).

I could do with a less-thin phone and a more-thick (longer-lasting) battery.
This iPhone has more efficient components.

honestly MacRumors I've really had enough of the side by side comparisons / speculations. I mean really how many times / ways are you gonna put the old battery / front cover / back cover / logic boards next the supposed new ones.

Higher voltage should also equate to slightly more efficient use of power. (Ever-so-slightly)

Yet you keep coming back
