Took the S5 up through the Angeles National Forest this weekend armed with only my X. I'm a cinematographer and photographer by career and the X has honestly made the dive over the line from novelty pocket camera to absolute powerhouse. It's genuinely really exciting every time I snap a new portrait shot and jump into Focos to render the bokeh. I shoot everything exclusively on the 52mm tele lens - the wider shots are taken directly in Focos because it allows depth capture beyond Apple's "within 8 feet" requirement, resulting in some really incredible rendering.

How are you guys taking amazing photos like this? I love my X, but honestly I think the pictures it takes are butt.

They don’t ever come in focused and the low light photos are even worse.

Hi,

Just reading this post. Im having the same issue as you and can’t seem to get decent photos, especially indoors. Apple even gave me a new phone(without looking at my poor quality photos) after complaining, but the issue is still apparent. Did you manage to resolve the camera issue on your phone?

What did you use for editing? Love the subtle film grain on the photos.

I don’t own an iPhone X any more but I do have an 8 Plus which has the same lens. This is my fave photo so far. My partner during a snowstorm

I don’t find the camera that great though. I still prefer my Eos camera but I wonder when that will change.....
