About a month ago I went to the '100 Watt' brewery in Eindhoven with my girlfriend. Had a taste of their specialty beers on tap. The really dark one was an amazingly dark and smokey barrel aged strong (13,7%) beer. Great atmosphere too!

That looks absolutely, utterly and totally tempting.

I must say that I love those "tasting boards" of a selection of beers frequently offered by good breweries; it is an excellent way of finding out more about the range of products of a particular brewery.

Not a lot! 😁 So good to be back. Crowds notwithstanding.

I cannot believe I was last in Paris January 2020… just as the first cases of Covid appeared at the Salpêtrière and the streets deserted amidst the Gilet Jaune protests.

Life (especially life when you are no longer a student when a combination of both lack of funds and lack of taste meant that you could and would drink anything) is too short to drink bad beer.

I have never, ever, ever so much as even laid eyes on this legend (for, of course, we do not have it in Europe), let alone sipped, sampled, or savoured it.

Good haul! Really wish they would get some distribution out to the east coast.

I've had to depend on friends from work with relatives who still live near the brewery to ship it to me.

Wouldn't class it with a Cotentin Cidre… or a good local Somerset Cider, but it was cool and tangy and not too sweet and just the right amount of alcohol to not derail the walk back home. 🙂

Fair enough.

To be perfectly candid, I have never tasted (sampled, sipped, savoured) - let alone enjoyed - a cider that comes close to the really good beers and wines that are my more usual regular fare.
