It becomes painfully clear to me now... I have a loan on my car, but it'll be paid off before the end of summer. I almost bought an '05 300C, which would've been another $20 a month, but I'd be paying on that for the next five stinkin' years.. the Cool-to-Cost ratio wasn't worth it.

Well my original thoughts were to just paint them titanium since a stock silver wheel is sooooo boring. My wheel guy had this idea and it actually looks pretty cool in th sunlight since the wheels change colors depending on which angle you look at the wheel. I like black wheels on a car and I have thought about putting RS4 wheels on the car but I would also paint those black. But at this point I am not going to put $$ into the car for an entire set of wheels since I am going to be buying a RS4 at the end of the summer. You don't have to like the current wheels, but don't make rude comments. Everyone on the board comes from different walks of life, and just because I am young you assume someone bought the car for me based on the tone of your post..... that is not true. I have provided everything for myself since I was 18 (now being 25) and I think I have done pretty well so far.

I'd say that my transmission was fine and that I was most likely just being paranoid. (as usual) I know that as of a couple of months ago, it's still running. I seen it around here somewhere. I believe it was at a gas station. Speaking of which, diesel is now $4.85 a gallon here, which is insane.

I did know the name of the color of mine, but I can't remember now.

I tell ya, even with the small flaws it had, on the way home when I bought it, (which was about 45-50 miles away) it drove beautifully, especially on the highway. 80MPH was nothing for it. German cars are always noted for their high speed stability and that one was definitely stable.

I ended up getting nervous once we got on the two lane roads that were more populated because I had a headlight out, a tailight out, and dead tags. :eek:

So yeah, I was pretty paranoid about the police.

Oh yeah, one more thing that annoyed me about the car was that it would keep running after you turned off the ignition occasionally. This, too, was a common problem with these cars and an easy fix from what I understand.

I bought my Golf at the end of last year and I love her very much. Shes quick, pretty, lovely to drive and park as well as geting 40mpg.

Only a 1.4 but 170hp so she's perfect for me living in such a small place as Gibraltar.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, my friend has a 2000 Mustang GT. Well today, I had the chance to drive it. :eek:

Being used to a 2.0 4 Cylinder, driving a badass 4.6 Liter V8 was insane. I only drove it a couple of miles, but I got on it a couple of times and hit about 80 or so. Effortlessly. It has an aftermarket exhaust (not sure of the brand) and a short shifter and I believe those are the only mods. The short shifter was awesome, as I'd never driven a car with one. Extremely quick shifts! Man, I swear it gave me a natural high to drive it. That was about 4 hours ago or so and I'm still pumped. It's seriously making me want a nice RWD sports car as my next car. Wow. :cool:

I'll add to this post that it is a blast to drive and so far the High Pressure Fuel Pump hasn't failed yet( :knock on wood: ). :D Though cleaning the exhaust tips is hell. Damn black exhaust crap. :p
 
Finally got around to taking some shots of my mother's new vehicle, which she got last month. It's a 2008 Chevy Impala LT, leather, heated seats, spoiler, 17" rims, XM Satellite Radio, etc... Very nice car for the price (MSRP of just over $26,000). She got it with 4,900 miles on it for $18,500.

My neighbor/ best friends dad has the exact same car, Only an 05 I believe and different wheels (10 spoke?). I've got to say that is an awesome little ride, so fun to drive. He absolutely loves his and babies it so so much.

It is ridiculously fun to drive. I can't stop grinning when I get on a twisty road. Can't wait to get out of the break in period so I can take it up to 8,000 rpm instead of 5,000. Figured now was the time to get one before my wife and I start thinking more seriously about kids.

I suppose you could if you wanted to rev the hell out of the engine the whole time. I personally get into 6th gear by about 45 mph when I'm just cruising around. When really pushing the car it helps to stay above 6k rpm which means spending a lot more time in the lower gears. The gear ratios are very close in this transmission.

Yep, I'm a mustang freak so I can tell the difference between all the classics (though the 71-73 are trickier). I had a guy in my english class try to argue with me about them, saying that it was originally a 4 door family car.:rolleyes: He ended up being one of my roommates later. Probably one of the only people I've ever met that I couldn't stand.

Anyway manual drum brakes are great fun as long as you don't need to stop quickly.:p I never really thought to worry about accidents too much. They don't have all the safety features, but there's a lot more steel in those old cars. I guess you're right though, your face being stopped by a plastic/wood steering wheel will hurt a little more than an airbag.:eek:

And painted all the emblems black.
 
Ref - LOVE the Mustang, and love that you did exhaust mods. They sound good in stock form, but after you do some exhaust mods, they just sound so much better.

Stock under the hood, few appearance modificiations. 6 speed, takes Premium fuel, and doesn't get great gas mileage.

Those '05+ sure ride much better than the older ones. My brother has a sonic blue 05 gt. They feel like they're more under control at high speeds too. IDK though, he's never let anyone drive it :rolleyes:

In all honesty though, I love this car. It handles amazingly, has an electric roof, heated leather seats and the most awesome alloy wheels ever! I usually get 45-50mpg on my runs to University which means it's perfect for what I bought it for. Manufacturer badges are intact, front and rear! ;)

Since I took these photos I've replaced the stereo with a Sony one which has proper iPod connectivity. It cost me about £100 and now I can just dock my iPhone when I get into the car and control it with the head unit. It works brilliantly.

too bad we didnt have those smart cars in canada they remind me of a rx8
