Incase Magazine Jacket

Just picked up the Incase Magazine Jacket from my local Best Buy and I love it! I went there originally to pick up the Belkin Snap Shield and dark grey Smart Cover (which would be about $70 total). I then found this in the same aisle as the Smart Covers and tried it out. It's only $50 so it saved me $20 and covers the back and the front like I wanted. It's got a soft matte touch to it. I can confirm the smart cover off-on feature works. I recommend it! Here's some pics:

Nice. What's on the back? Grip strips?m

Yea I guess that's what they could be used for. I think they are so the iPad sits level and it holds the stand more firmly in picture 2. It like locks it into place.

UPDATE: Yes, the notches on the back are to lock in two different viewing angles. Picture 2 is one version it can sit on.

Well, it definitely fit mine (I actually tried it right at the store), but I’ve heard a few folks say it was too tight. I guess there’s enough variation in the case that most fit an iPad 3rd gen, but YMMV. :)

Hahah! Well, I have an update. I thought I'd clean the Belkin cover, washed it just like I'd to our Speck cases, snapped it back on and the lower left corner broke off. Its still semi-secure, but I'll be looking to replace it. I guess it was a little too tight with the iPad 3rd gen being a touch thicker.

So I guess my update would be: the Belkin snap case for the iPad 2 will fit, but it might explode at any time :D

Go for the iPad - you'll settle on a case. Here's my girlie case.

What case is that? It's pretty much everything I'm looking for - slim, easy to use, covers back and front... and minus the pink part :p Do you mind giving a mini pro and con review?

Ohhh ok I see lol

I have an Otterbox, but I pretty much hate it. I like the bare look on all my products. Aluminum just is not made to be covered up, it looks cheesy and not as professional when you do. The only thing I did have was an anti glare screen, which I hate the fact that it takes the image quality and makes it grainy, but with it off in the wrong lighting, I can barely see some things even on full brightness. No cases, maybe a anti glare screen. Thats it for me.

Has anyone tried a silicone glove? I've been using these with my smartphones for years. The keep the device scratch resistant, grippy and are thin and light. I bought a crappy one for the iPad 3 that turned out to be too loose but I ditched it for a proper case. These are still very cheap and highly recommended. I just wonder if anyone is using one?

I hate silicone cases in part because dust tends to accumulate on the edges. Hate that. Same reason I hate those leather cases that cover the bezel.

For those of you using a zaggfolio, how do you find it, and would you recommend it?

I love the look of it, but it is very pricey. I live in asia, so it costs $120 after shipping (before converting to my currency), easily twice as ex as normal casings.

On another note, does anyone know if the logitech keyboard casing still fits the new ipad? A shop near me is offering it at a 30% discount, and I am hearing reports that zagg is basically repackaging their ipad2 stock as ipad3-compatible.

Thanks all for your feedback. :)

I love mine. I've only had it for a short time but I can't imagine living without it. The folio itself isn't the highest quality but I can live with that and the only issue I have with it is the USB connection on the keyboard itself. Mine has been used twice since getting the ZAGGfolio and the second time I realized it was already loose and had to finagle getting the charge light to come on. It's covered when in the folio so it's got to be a design issue. I need to call ZAGG about it and see what they'll do.

That was my main concern. I watched some review vids on youtube and well, the quality of the casing seems somewhat flimsy and substandard. Do you find it value for money? The production costs seem quite low, think the company must be raking in fairly high margins for this...

The keyboard is fantastic and feels very substantial. The sticker on the folio that gives it the color isn't that great, but the whole thing together is just fine. I'm picky and just wasn't 100% happy with the finish. I think it was definitely worth the money as a whole but would not buy the Folio on its own. I'd be happier if the price point was at or near the $50 mark. Yet I like the keyboard and the case enough that I do not regret buying it at near retail.

I only wish the USB connection was more secure, but that might just be a problem with mine. I'm sure if I get around to calling ZAGG they will take care of it for me... at least I hope so.

Just a smart cover with a Skinomi protector on the back.

So you love it...then spend the rest of the time bashing it?
