My set-up isn't anything uncommon, but I really like the extra magnet on my Incase back cover on my Ipad 3.It gives the smart cover one extra position which I really like(last pic).......

nice ! what theme are u using?

I'm using the Apple Smart Cover in black leather and the Macally SmartMate 3B (I believe it's called) for my 3rd generation iPad. Pretty happy with it so far. As you can see in the pictures, this is a hardshell back cover with a hinge for the Smart Cover. It also features a so called "amplifier" for the speaker which actually is pretty clever and a neat little feature.

God this back cover would be perfect if it just locked the smart cover on. Why hasn't anyone made a back cover with magents & smart cover lock???

This is my result from trusting a ZUM Smartcover set to save my iPad from a fall. Was walking into the restroom (need I say more) and the iPad slipped from my hand, I held onto the "smartcover". I was left holding the smartcover, the ipad impacted the floor tiles.

I'm not a fan of the ZUM product anymore.

you can get that without the extra magnet using a regular back cover, it is a nice case though! too rich for my blood!

I normally use an Ozaki iCoat Slim-y++ or an Ozaki iCoat Travel (Rome) (switch between the two). I also got this Lifeproof Nuud case in the mail the other day. So here it is!

Just curious, if i were to put a screen protrector on it, would it not fit right? would it end up ruining the case and the protector?

Nah they said it might ruin the seal around the front glass and allow water and what not to enter.

The manual says that they don't recommend the of use non lifeproof protectors as it can interfere with the waterproof seal. They recommend that third party screen protectors be removed before submerging in water.

Now I don't know if that means they make their own compatible lifeproof screen protectors, because I haven't found any on their website, but perhaps it'll be a future product? (shrug)

So I think the screen protector may fit the case if you put it in and not cause any damage, but it would compromise the waterproof qualities of the case. Not sure though as I don't use a screen protector. I just put the iPad in a sleeve when I'm using the case. My everyday case is an ozaki icoat y++.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Thanks for the heads up. Was thinking about buying a ZUM, but not anymore. Sorry to hear about your iPad! :( I hope you had AppleCare+?

That combo is more for scratch protection, not impact protection.

I have the apple smartcase (one that fits snug). While the protruding edges may dig into your hands after a while (depending on how you hold it) it surves as a bumper of sorts. I did the same as the guy who cracked his ipad, I too dropped it on its edge in the house and the apple smartcase protruding bumper soften the impact and prevented a busted screen.
