Well that is a bummer, I was really looking forward to night mode on ultra wide, I guess I still have to log around my dslr on the upcoming trip
Yea it’s a disappointment to me too. It doesn’t work with Portrait mode as well for front facing camera

not so much.... get you a mini tripod and a iPhone holder like the MEfoto sidekick 360 (11pro) or360 plus (11pro max) and download the app called Nightcap. In that app you can take long exposures at night and day . The image doesn’t get over exposed but stacks a bunch of them to where you can use the UWA with a long exposure and process it by lifting the shadows. The end result is a clean noise free image. Even at high iso they look good. So if a mini tripod doesn’t bother you ( I use the manfrotto mini)Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod, Black (MTPIXI-B) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D76RNLS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_z6pmEbQT0KMTR

now in total dark situations where night mode will work better, the UWA with Nightcap will do best with brighter situations, similar to the brightness of your living room with one lamp on. Or the sidewalks of a downtown city like New York and the like. Use nightcap as it is a manual app and set the iso to 500 or so and take a 30 second exposure.Manually adjust the exposure time to your liking and let it go. Then process that image.
Nightcap also allows you to take star trails also. If you have questions, let me know

this past weekend while walking around our neighborhood

Using long exposure for your photo might be brilliant. This is what I get this morning.

How do you bring up the long exposure during daylight?

Make sure its a live photo. In the gallery, choose the photo you wanted to be with long exposure effect. Swipe the photo up, it will show location, and photo effect: Live > loop > bounce > long exposure

pick long exposures, and see how it goes✌🏻

Weather’s fairing lovely today. Loving the clouds. 인생은 좋았습니다 🥰

Nice picture mate! Can i ask you what is the filter you've used for the film effect? Thanks!

Sure... I used a mixture of four different filters at different strengths for this photo from the app called A Color Story. That is a really neat app with access to over 400 filters and several effects, the only negative is that it cost $25 per year. Marylin and green house were two of the filters, the other two I don’t recall. I tweaked them to where I liked what I saw. But that app gives you a three day trial to see if you like it.

Thanks mate!!!

Could we get some challenging non-night photos, like sunsets? I feel like those look the most beautiful in real life, but unfortunately quite artificial on my XS. Has it improved?

To take a great photo of the moon with your iPhone, you need to bring the exposure compensation down really low so the details are visible. Otherwise you will have a white blob. This photo was taken with my 11 pro max using the Halide app and 2X camera. ISO 20, 1/500 second exposure. You can also use the default camera, but the Halide app allows full control over the cameras. Try it out....

100% crop and full image shots.

I wonder if you can achieve Astrology more with these settings.
