I am opening this thread to see how are pitaka cases this year before i pull the trigger. Basically to see how is the quality control and if i should wait to fix possible issues.

You early birds post some photos etc once you receive them 😁

I will post a review of the MagCase 2 on Saturday, I did not go for the Air Case as it doesn't work with Magsafe

Last year I went for Pitaka Air for my Gold iPhone 12 Pro Max, and it's been an incredible experience. I very much enjoyed the light weightiness and durability of the case. The case is still just like new after using it for almost a year.

I have already ordered Pitaka Air case again this year for my Sierra Blue iPhone 13 Pro Max, because I prefer light weight and thin profile cases, and Pitaka Air is undoubtedly a great choice.

Actually, the Pitaka Air case does work with the MagSafe charger and other accessories. I have been using it with my 12 PM, and the MagSafe charger works flawlessly with the Pitaka case.

This 1000%. I had the Air Case for my 11 Pro, have it for my 12 Pro and just received one for my 13 Pro.

How is the finishing and fitment? Any rough edges etc??
Spot on. Nope, none.

Edit: I received the Air Case for 13 Pro earlier this week and received my 13 Pro just a little while ago. I slapped on the Air Case. They must of changed the design slightly. The lip on the front protrudes higher than previous versions, which makes the edges feel not as fluid, if that makes sense. The lip on the previous versions was just enough for lay on table design. Not a deal breaker, but I’d knock a few points off.

For charging it will work, but holding up to a car mount it will not work

As me how i know, because i tested both and had to stick with the Magcase for my 12 pro max

Previously, I used the Caudaube Veil and loved it, but after a 4-5 months it would start to lose it's shape and there would be gaps. Then I went for the Pitaka Air for my iPhone 12 mini. It was a little thicker than the Veil and the sides/bottom/top weren't covered, which worried me. Worries were unfounded. I loved it. Felt just as thin as the Veil but it's way stronger. After a year it looks brand new. It does show fingerprints on the back, which drives me nuts, but it's not a deal breaker. I've dropped my phone a number of times and not a scratch to the uncovered parts - maybe I'm just lucky.

I just put the new Pitaka Air on my iPhone 13 mini and I love it even more! The back feels great. The top sides curl over a little which I think adds protection. Seems slightly less fingerprint prone on back. The Air works with the Apple MagSafe charger and also the new wallet! It makes the noise and alerts when it has been disconnected. I assume there might be some issues with a MagSafe car mount.

I considered the air but having a magsafe car charger and home charger meant I had to pass on it. I read some of the questions on the air and while it does charge with magsafe, Pitaka suggest that you pass on it if you want a strong hold on your phone.

I instead purchased this and so far the magnetic on this thing is impressive. It's freaking strong. There is one con that might make me return it, it's such a stiff case that it makes it's very hard to take the phone out.

As previously mentioned, the lips/edges are noticeable to the point where it can make it sharp with a thin screen protector. Oil residue shows up on the back but easy to clean. Not sure if I'll keep mine.

Agreed on the lips and edges. See my post here:

I emailed Pitaka. They said I was the first to bring it up and it could be a defect. They are going to send me a replacement. And check the cut and fit before doing so. Great customer service!

I’m considering to purchase my first Pitaka case but I’m concerned with how hard it might be to remove the phone from the case. I have a QuadLock for my road bike and you need use their cases.

How are the edges/lips on this case? I had to skip the Air for the 12 Pro last year since it was quite sharp on the edge and I'm hoping it's more like the older cases with this version.

Yeah it's still there. I wouldn't say it's sharp but I wouldn't say it's not sharp either lol.

Please update once you receive the replacement and let us know if it’s any better. I’ve noticed the lip this year too, I don’t remember it being there or as obvious last year on the 12 Pro.

Will do. I am not liking the lip now. The edge on the bottom is kind of sharp when it rests on my pinky. Hopefully the replacement is better.

Ugh. Just hoping it’s not like the Air from last year. They’re one of the few who still make cases with the bottom exposed and I don’t want to wait until November for the Bullstrap leather case to be available.

I have been using pitaka cases on every iPhone model since the X (XS Max, 11 Pro Max, the Air on the 12 Pro Max, and now the Air on the 13 Pro Max).

I’ve been using the Air on the 13 Pro Max since Friday and it’s nowhere near as well made as the Air I got for my 12 Pro Max at launch last year. It’s looser and the edges are sharper to the touch, and also protrude too much. The corners also seem to protrude more than the edges on the rest of the case. I ordered from Amazon and I’m waiting for pitaka to send me a replacement as well. I’m wondering if it might be worth waiting for them to fix these issues…

I ordered one from Amazon as well. The replacement will ship directly from China, but they didn’t say how long. I am going to ask them. I purchased an Apple Clear Case to tie me over.

Can you guys show some real life pictures? Really looking forward to a very slim and durable case for my 13 pro. I love the apple leather case but like to change it up a little.

Good news my replacement case shipped from China. I’ll report back once I receive it.

I am rocking the Apple Clear Case for now. Very nice case, but a little slippery.
