I am rocking the Apple Clear Case for now. Very nice case, but a little slippery.
Those edges protrude way to much!!!!
Let us know how the replacement will be!!! Thats one of the reasons i stop ordering cases once they released. They usually come out with issues! I am waiting till "batch 2"

The flat edges of the 12/13 makes it impossible for there to be no protrusion I think. Best to get a thick screen protector

Poor fit for iPhone 13 Pro
Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2021

Poor fitting case that is uncomfortable to hold due to awkwardly sharp overextending edges. The protective ring around the camera is loose and sticks out much further than it should, making it hard to use on wireless chargers and just bulky overall. I like the aramid fiber and thinness but it’s way too expensive for what it is. Their logo being on the case is also annoying. Wait for them to significantly improve this design or someone to make it better and cheaper. Returning.

Thank you for sharing. You just saved me good $60! Appreciate that.

Likewise! Almost pulled the trigger but glad I found this thread. I’ve previously had a Caudabe Veil, but as others mention they warp over time. (Every single one I’ve had saw this issue.) However, there aren’t many truly thin options, and in pictures this year’s looks different. Giving Caudabe one more shot. Tozo on Amazon makes a good thin one, but it’s not out yet. Used theirs on my 12 Pro with good success.

Fingers crossed that the replacement will be good, otherwise going back for a refund.

The sharp edges are inevitable. I'm going to give it a miss this year.

is that the replacement case?

i’m also really disappointed with my 13 pro air case, same sharp edges. they asked for my case’s serial number and are going to examine the replacement before sending to me later this month, so i’m hoping it’s just the initial bad batch that was rushed out before the actual phone was available. i’ll see how that one goes.

it’s really unfortunate, as i had their iphone x and 11 pro cases, and LOVED how there wasn’t a front lip. with the 13’s flat edges, i doubt they can completely eliminate the front lip as they need something to grab onto, but i’m hoping they can minimize/round it off.

i’ve looked all around and didn’t come across any thin cases from other brands that didn’t have a front lip. anyone else had better luck? as much as i’d like to go caseless, it’s just too slippery for me.

They are sending you a replacement case later this month? Mine was inspected and is en route to me directly from their factory in China.

they’re working on it, and said it’ll ship out by mid-oct from hong kong after it’s been inspected. looks like i won’t be getting it potentially until late october :-(

Interesting. I wonder why my replacement case was shipped out so soon and yours is taking longer? Hopefully no sharp edges on mine.

I mentioned earlier somewhere that it has to do with there straight edges of the current design. I remember they same issue last year as well. Don’t think there is much you can do unless you use a thicker screen protector but then you’ll lose the raistivity ? Of the front of the phone…. It’ll have to wrap around the edges

The same thing happened last year with my 12 Pro Air Case. They shipped me a replacement, which was perfect.

I have the AT&T tempered glass screen protector on my 13 Pro. It is a relatively thin screen protector, helped cut down on some of the sharp edges, but still not acceptable. I am not concerned with lack of raisivity.

Also, the bottom edge is rough where it rests on my pinky when using the device. That is worse than the other rough edges in my opinion.

Ahh, good to know then. Guess its just a batch flaw,

Yeah, the bottom can be a bit.....

Be careful with iPitaka Air Case. Ive had 1 for my 12 Pro Max and it has a gap(in between the phone and case) besides the camera(try knocking with your fingers,it sounds hollow).

Ordered another one from Amazon

I've gone ahead and reached out to them for a potential replacement as I do love their cases but the quality of the edges could use more work, hoping it's just a QC issue rather than a design choice.

I’ll let you know if it’s just a QC issue as soon as I receive my replacement case.

Just ordered a 13 Pro Max and am looking into a case. I've had Pitaka cases on my X and XS Max and always the slimmest version they sell. I love how they are very thin, grippy, and protect the phone very well despite being so small. I want to get the Pitaka Air, but am concerned after reading these posts. It looks like even with the "air" version the edges of the case now wrap all the way around and create a lip on the front. While this is great for protecting the screen if you lay it face down, this actually interferes with the edge of the screen and the way you interact with it. This is a big reason I liked their cases on my older iphones, because they designed the case to line up perfectly with the front of the screen instead of wrapping around and creating the lip. I can see from the photos some of you have posted (thank you!) why people are complaining of "sharp" edges. I'm hoping these are manufacturing errors and the replacement cases some of you are waiting on are fixed. Please keep us updated!

I received the replacement case today. It is an incremental improvement at best. The edges/lips are not as sharp, but they still protrude too much.

The Air Case has been my go-to case the last few iPhones. Before the AirCase, I used the MagCase.

Not sure what I am going to do. I emailed them about it. I’ll see what they have to say before making a decision to keep or return it. I’ll most likely keep it, unless there is something similar out there.

that’s quite unfortunate. i get mine later this week but from your experience, i don’t expect much better.

i ordered the torras slim fit case and although there’s 1mm of front lip, they’re rounded so it’s quite comfortable when swiping. the only issue i have with it is the the soft touch finish actually feels somewhat less grippy than the pitaka, so i find myself squeezing it harder during one-handed use. i’m going to return that and see what happens with pitaka.

@walds11 do you think adding a screen protector will flush out the front lip? that’ll be my next step.

I do have a tempered glass screen protector on the device. I forgot to mention that earlier. It helps but doesn’t flush out the front lip. It would be perfect if Pitaka would either shorten the front lip or make it more rounded.

Weirdly, I have not noticed any sharp edges on my 13 mini air case. I do have a tempered glass screen protector on it. I love the air so much.
