that's unfortunate, did you order from Amazon? I'm going to do a return if the replacement is the same.

i ordered direct from pitaka. if this is how their case is, then i’ll just have to live with it. i really like the aramid finish bc it provides the best grip for me. the other slim fit case i got was the torras slim fit, and its soft touch finish is too slippery for me.
 
I believe Pitaka may have fixed some of the quality issues with the Pro Max Air case some of you were noticing. Specifically with the front edges wrapping around the screen too much creating an obtrusive lip. Someone named “bgns” in the reviews section on Amazon had this experience and received a replacement that seems to have fixed the issues. They posted some nice comparison pics of the replacement compared to the first bad one. They have more posted in their review, but here are a couple. I’m glad to see this because the way the replacement looks is exactly what I’ve gotten with all my thin Pitaka cases in the past.
Which is the replacement?
 
Does anyone know what is exactly a return policy on Pitaka website? I would like to purchase directly from the website but don’t want a hassle. Amazon doesn’t have the color I want
 
Got my 13 Pro Max Air case and I can’t tell for sure if it’s the newer one with the correctly cut front lip. I think it is, but am not sure. I’ll post back when my phone arrives with more pics and if it fits well. The pic with one case is mine. The pic with two cases is from an Amazon review with the case on the right being the replacement case.

One thing I can tell for sure is the Pitaka Mag EZ Case on my XS Max feels a lot more grippy than the Air case for 13 Pro Max. The Air case feels slippery in comparison. I don’t know if this is because the Air case is new and needs to be worn in, or if the Air feels different because of its 600D Aramid weave, which looks different than the 1500D weave on the Mag EZ 2 and Mag Pro. My XS Max Mag EZ case looks similar to the Mag EZ 2 case so I’m guessing it’s closer to the 1500D rating. Also the Air case feels a lot more flimsy. It bends very easily compared to my XS Max Mag EZ Case.

They said they’ll ship me a new one but that it probably won’t get here until the end of October. Let’s see if it’s fixed.
 
I started a return on Amazon but then Pitaka contacted me and asked if they could send a new case. The front edges of the case seem sharp and a definitely a nuisance when swiping. In fact they appear to chipped the edge of my screen protector which I admit was not perfectly straight but it was pretty darn good. If the new case is not any better I will definitely submit the return I started on Amazon. The question is will they ship before the 30 day mark if they don't I will return it before the return window ends.

I’m doing the same, I really hope the replacement is better.

I had Pitaka cases for many years and never had any issues until this release…
 
Got the replacement today, it's perfect, no defects and no raised edges. Pitaka shipped me this one directly from China.
You must of received the latest and greatest. I received a replacement case directly from China on 10/5 and it still had the raised edges. I immediately sent them an email and this was their response:


“Thanks for your feedback. Sorry that we didn't meet your expectations.
If you have any suggestion towards our products or our design, you are more than welcome to come contact us and we will listen to every single one of them and make sure that our next move is to the maximum benefits to our customer.”

Oh well. I’ll still use the case because it is my all-time favorite case.
 
Well that’s sad. I had the Pitaka Air for my 12 Pro Max last year and I really enjoyed it. I was going to get one this time but I figured I’d give Caudabe a try first. My 12 Pro Max - I had a heavy duty leather case that I liked and I’d alternate that with the Pitaka Air when I wanted to feel like I was using the phone nekkid. :/
 
My replacement straight from China is arriving on Monday. I’ll post some photos once they do.

imo that second picture shows the biggest difference - you can still see part of the silver edge of your phone, while mine completely covers it. so there’s hope that they’re still correcting their later batches.

Since I love the Air Case so much, I emailed Pitaka customer service again. They are going to send me another replacement directly from China. They assured me that the issues have been fixed and will test the replacement before shipping to me. Let’s see how this replacement is. I am not giving up, LOL!

Hell yea brother! Looking forward to my replacement today. As much as I like the Official Leather case and my Caudabe Sheath, I love the open bottom cut out of the Pitaka more.

EDIT: It’s close to perfect with the bottom opening not being sharp anymore. Will be keeping it on my phone for good I think.

How are the edges? Flush and not raised?
