Seems it won't be a 0 day release.
It's never same day as firmware release. You have unrealistic expectations. If we got it in one week from today that would be fast and I would be very greatful!

Update to 6.1 through itunes
Should I update now, or wair until the JB is live? Dont want to lose my JB then wait a month to get it back.

Redsn0w can kick it into soft DFU mode, but personally I had bad experiences with it.
Can you take it to Apple? DFU mode is important IMO.

You dont need to be on dfu mode to update/restore to 6.1
Just plug it to itunes and restore.
Since I can only quote 1 at at a time thank you both. But I'm having a problem I can't seem to back up my iphone!

I am very giddy about this. I have been fine with my iPhone 5 on stock iOS, and I prefer it to my jailbroken iPhone 4S, but being able to get all my JB tweaks and themes back is exciting. It'll be interesting to see how many of the tweaks and themes require reworking of the code due to iOS 6 or the iPhone 5's resolution.
