Even the A8 should be powerful enough to push the 6+ without a hitch, nevermind the A9

I think it more likely has something to do with the downscaling rather than the actual computing power of the phone.

That extra step seems to be an "animation achilles heel" of sorts with the Plus models.

This was proven to be the case almost a year ago. I personally went with the regular 6s this time around to avoid performance hiccups that may arise with the Plus. It's unfortunate because I like the size of the Plus and the battery life, but the 6s size is nice too.

Like I said. If there's lag its incredibly minute. It is in NO WAY as prominent as the 6 plus lag. And it can be fixed... It lags no where else. Not rotation of the keyboard in spotlight not the app switcher no where else.

Yeah, understood. I'm just really particular about performance and I notice small stuff. :)

Something I noticed is that there is animation lag on the 6S Plus when using force touch, and it does not exist on the 6S. I don't know what could be causing this. The processor should be powerful enough to push the extra pixels on the 1080P screen, but I can notice the animation difference. To me, its extremely annoying, but I'm also very particular with my phones.

What OS are the phones running? Likely 9.0. I'd reserve judgement until you get 9.0.1 on there, if not 9.1. I've noticed a lot of lag improvement on my 6 Plus when I put 9.0.1 on there, and I've heard 9.1 is even better.

I updated them to 9.0.1

This whole thread seems like make believe to me.. How do we know the credentials of this guy anyway?

Try this as I noticed it eliminated any lag I had noticed on my 6 plus.

In settings, general, accessibility, turn reduce motion on and in increase contrast turn reduce transparency on. Not having to render the motion and the translucent background seemed to speed things up just a tad.

See what effect that has, just for sh!ts and giggles.
