I'm curious as to whether you guys own a Console like PS3/Xbox already, and what factor made you guys jump on the PSVita?

I guess I'm having trouble justifying buying a PSVita... It looks great and so do the specs; but I'm not loving the lineup of games so far :/

I'm a tech junkie. & a game junkie. Really that simple. lol

I have a pair of Xbox 360's (one "mine", one the wife's -- but they're really both hers like everything else that's "mine") but haven't owned a PS-anything since the PS2 and PSP. There's some PS-only titles I like and am hoping for on the Vita. That said, I may have to just hock one of the Xboxes and replace it with a PS3. :)

I own an XBox and PS3. Love gaming and trying new tech

I think you can always distinguish between a Console and a Portable. If I'm at my girlfriend's place and she's on the phone, I flip on the Vita or 3DS and kill time. Same if I'm waiting for someone or I'm stuck in my car in a parking lot somewhere or if I'm in a hotel room in Vegas waiting for homies to get ready. I can just pull out the portable and kill time.

But if you don't know what games you want to play, hold off on the purchase. All about the games here.

It would be awesome if ValvE ports their games to the Vita

If TF2 came to the Vita with cross-console play with PC users, and had either the front or back touchpanels for precise aiming along with the second analogue stick for "rough" aiming. I'd buy that no matter the price and I wouldn't play another game on my Vita for the duration of its life.

I'm not even kidding.

I would destroy that console.

(1220 hours in TF2 on the PC)

may I ask what you do? I understand completely if you don't want to say.

He's a geek mugger - He bashes old grannies over the head with modern tech in order to steal their pension money.... isn't that right Jimmi :D ;)

Game development :) and he's very good at it too. I'm playing one of his creations currently.

Must be only person on planet with a gaming PC who has never played it.....

I've had my vita for a couple of days now. Loving it.

Been playing wipeout, uncharted, stardust, and rayman.

I'm really loving my Vita.... I would like to say thank you to Steve Jobs for making this moment possible..

Sony was really forced to innovate IMHO. Competition from the iPhone & iPad (games like Nova 1,2, Real Racing 1,2 and Infinity Blade1,2 just to name a few)

I've been playing Uncharted for 6 hrs and I'm only 29% DONE!!! I can pick up games and play anywhere.... Wow this has made me a gamer all over again.... I love it!!!

Anyone know where I can get a Dual usb car charger to charge both the PS Vita and iPhone/iPad?
thanks

Any dual charger will work, just keep in mind the Vita has to be powered off to be charged via USB. There is no way around that.

I believe the Vita charges at 1200mA so with anything at this current rating or a little higher and you'd be able to charge with the Vita on.

If the output current is much less -- say 500mA which is about what a PC's USB port provides -- the Vita will have to be off in order to charge (and do so much slower).

Can anyone recommend Shinobido 2? I am looking for a new game but I think I bought all the ones I want.
Might just buy Gran Turismo Portable, I haven't played that since I completed it a few years back.

Metacritic points to it as being average, user reviews are a little unkinder. How about Ninja Gaiden Sigma if your after some NinjaVita'ness action ?

I really need a couple of new games too. My Vita spends way too much time in it's case for a new gadget...

What are you thinking of getting? I have FIFA and Uncharted but got given an Amazon voucher for another game. Any you'd recommend?

I'm not sure. Although it has a ridiculous DLC structure, I'm considering Ridge Racer because as a series it's usually entertaining. Other then that, I'm drawing a blank.

I really hope Sony announce a few big titles on March 9th...

I was looking at Unit 13 but it isn't mind blowing. Oh well, let's hope for something good on Friday, eh!

Well I've got nearly all the release games.

The best of the bunch IMHO are

Wipeout 2048 - return to form but little bit of frame rate issues now and again
Uncharted - great show piece
Rayman Origins - better than the console version which I also love
FIFA 2012 - surprisingly good, closest to the console version you can get on a handhld
Lumines - addictive puzzle game with steep learning curve
Everybody's Golf | Hot Shots Golf - glorious fun but online pass is annoying and can not be activated if you import

BlazBlue
Ultimate Marvel V Capcom. Both amazing, UMVC has more characters, but BlazBlue is arguably the better looking title

Everything else..

Modnation racers is crippled by poor frame rate
Dynasty Warriors is crippled by poor camera
Katamari Touch is bland and the touch features don't really add to the experience
Ride Racer could have been excellent, presentation and graphics are excellent but lack of content is a killer
Army Corps Of Hell - ok but very repetitive and bit ugly
F1 - it's average, nothing bad nothing great

Downloadable highlights

Escape Plan - good game but not as good as I hoped, but still recommended
Tales From Space - excellent
Super Stardust HD is rocking
Hustle Kings - surprisingly entertaining
Motor storm RC - a really great game though if I'm honest I think Reckless Racing 2 on IOS is arguably better looking.

Have played but haven't bought...

Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus - great game but I've played it too many times before to pay for it again
Little Deviants - didn't impress me
Dungeon Hunter HD - the loading took forever - 60 second loads are too much for a portable game.

I am buying

Lego Harry Potter years 5-7 on March 9th
Gravity Rush - June.

Hoping more new games are announced for the device soon.

Yeah I thought the demo was a bit poo tbh.

Ridge Racer would have been one of my favorite games on it if it only had more content. The 3 tracks that come with it look great with great post processing and such, the one downloadable track a moment is not as good.

Lack of a proper single player campaign - simply because of lack of content currently is also very disappointing especially if you've played Ridge Racer 3DS which was packed with content.

They've basically ruined what could have been a killer launch title.

Bargain...

However..... Here's where I sweeten the deal. Namco give a £10 discount if you buy Ridge Racer for Katamari on psn store and vice versa. I bought Katamari because of the discount. :)

Hmmmm, sigma looks too fight for me, I want some form of story line. The shockingly poor graphics of shinobido may have contributed to the poor score though.

Don't get me wrong, I have been running y Vita into the ground. Fifa/Uncharted?Wipeout have been keeping me happy so far.

What are you into mate? Don't forget you could have a look at some PSP games too, I may re-play one of the GTA's too.

Motorstorm RC really is lovely isn't it? I prefer it on the PS3 though, the Vita version seems to have some bad screen tearing and the initial load times are abysmal (seems to be a Vita thing. All my games take a long time to boot up).

I love the whole social thing and I think Sony need to highlight this. I bought a Vita 'just coz' and I'm staying for the social aspect. It's something I haven't noticed in the iOS games I've played or the 3DS - easily viewable highscore tables with friends data. I love playing through Rayman and Motorstorm... playing the game second but challenging my friends scores first.

I think i'm returning my Vita. Its far too buggy and ruins the whole experience. I'm playing FIFA...final of the FA cup against Spurs (Arsenal), its extra time and i'm about to nail the coffin and score the winning goal. And the STUPID game crashes!

I almost smashed the thing. Now i have to start all over again. Ugh!!!

Its not the first time either.

EDIT: Buggy game not buggy console.

I don't think i've ever been this agree in my life. I almost smashed the thing. I'm still trembling.

You may have a dodgy vita. I've yet to experience bugs / crashes etc. :(

What memory card do you have ? Loading times are only bad on a couple of titles for me. Motor Storm RC takes its time due to the cross play syncing to the network stuff it does initially.

You are right, it is great. Though the live area can be annoying because you have to touch twice to launch a game, its really nice scrolling down and seeing how people on your friends lists are doing on that game. Near is pretty cool too. Though can't say I have spent a lot of time on it. Some people have sent me gifts which is a nice touch. Game centre is not on the same scale but I doubt Apple are not taking notice. I believe we will see rapid evolution of game centre.
Speaking of which, did I read somewhere that mountain lion introduces game centre to mac or did I just imagine that? Would be the logical next step I suppose.
