um...how do we answer the poll? The question is "are you happy or unhappy with your battery performance" but the choices are yes, no or neutral...the question isn't poised as a yes or no question
lmao, i was going to answer the poll but had to read it twice before i voted.

to the OP, fix the poll answers.

I noticed my 4S battery dies faster than my previous iPhone 4.
Same type of usage as before. Not sure if it's a software issue or if the new iPhones uses up more power.

Standby time on the 4S will be less due to the 4S having 200 hours standby, whereas the iPhone 4 has 300 hours. The iPhone 4 standby time will be based on it using iOS 4, I expect that it would be less with iOS 5 though.

I tried, but I can't find a way to do it.

After turning off ALL system location services and all non-esssential app location services my battery life has improved greatly. However, I hate HAVING to turn it all off... so I hope Apple figures out a fix.

I took my phone off the charger this morning when I woke up...

Usage: 1 hours 20 minutes
Standby: 9 hours 21 minutes
80% battery remaining

I've not done much except iBooks, updating some apps, checking a few emails, sending a few texts etc... it's Sunday after all ;-) Edited to add: I did play with Siri for a little bit this afternoon after reading an article with some new tips. Maybe 5-6 minutes.

================

Update: Here are my current stats. I kept my phone off the charger overnight to see what happened and I dropped about 10% while sleeping. Before bed I used iBooks and Tapatalk for about 1.5 hours.

Usage: 3 hours 38 minutes
Standby: 22 hours 43 minutes
48% battery remaining

Will keep updating until I have to break down and charge the phone.

I just plugged my iPhone 4S in to charge a few minutes ago.

Usage: 6 Hours
Standby: 2 Days

2% Left.

This is with half brightness, auto brightness off, bluetooth off, pretty much everything else on. Usage included using lots of apps, web browsing, youtube, some email, texting, iMessaging, downloading apps and updates, music, camera, one phone call and Siri a few times.

Seems good, but yours does say, that you have had it plugged in since last charge, how long was this for?

Although my battery life is nowhere near as bad as others mention on other forums (some people are getting 9-10 hours till their 4S's are flat when doing virtually nothing). I decided to email Apple. I told them I want a replacement sent out, due to the battery life running down in the region of twice as much in the same time period, than what my iPhone 4 did, i mentioned that i had tried everything suggested on their support forum. If the battery life is the same on this one, then it's software based IMO.

I have seen posts that mention people getting their 4S's replaced and the battery life been better, perhaps a slight battery defect on some handsets?.

A replacement is worth getting in the meantime IMO until Apple release a fix, as it would rule out if my 4S had a slight battery defect.

Connected Itunes transferred a song and then unplugged I have 17% and im at 6hrs right now..

Happy so far with 4S battery, it's not too different from old 3GS battery life to be honest.

Usage 3 hours 1 Minute
Standby 1 Day 5 Hours

Battery 33%

Yesterday's usage (from 100 to 50%) was mostly wifi.
Today's usage mostly 3G

So what exactly does "tapatalk" do? Does it allow you to post pics to forums directly from the iPhone?

I so wish there was a native way of doing this from the iPhone.

Yes buy if you post using tapatalk hosting you have lost control of that picture forever. No deleting it.

This about my average at this point.

Usage 3 Hours 10 Minutes
Standby 1 day 12 Hours
43% battery life left

This is in line with my iPhone 4.

8 hours standby

I've had my 4S for 48 hours.

With e-mail, siri, location service OFF and only standby, the battery life is about 8 hours.

Going back to the retailer today to try to get my money back.

I have taken my 'old' iPhone 4 back in use. But since the update to IoS5, I've seen some major battery drainage also. I've tried to reinstall IoS - no change.

Don't know what to do....

My battery isn't very consistent....

I turned off all of the location services and have about 6 apps installed (none of which are running in the background) and my battery seems to drain randomly.

Sometimes, it goes from 100% to 90% in one hour without me even touching it, sometimes it goes from 100% to 90% in one hour with me using it the entire time.

It is very odd.

Here's mine. Fully charged it Saturday night into Sunday morning. Been constantly texting, Wifi and 3G all day.

This is my first iPhone and I've been disappointed in my battery. It seems mine is pretty bad compared to some. Not to mention I've had multiple kernel panics (4 times a day).

Anyone have Input on my situation.

My first one was having multiple kernel panics per day as well and rebooting itself continuously. Apple replaced it at the store on the spot when I told them that and you can even show them the diagnostic file. New phone hasn't had one kernel panic yet (over 2 weeks of use) *knock on wood* where as the first one would do it every couple of days.

I will be going to apple tomorrow. Hopefully the battery on the replacement is better than this one.

I have everything on (notifications, bluetooth, iCloud, push email, etc.). This my battery usage.
