Same here. Apple says 12th, Ups says 7th. We shall see. Mine shows cleared customs and left Korea.
Ooh, I love hearing that there can be a disparity between Apple's delivery estimate and UPS's estimate. I suppose that makes sense though as UPS updates constantly and Apple has to wait for that data.

Wow, I love to come to these forums around order times every year and hear the exact same panic attacks. Absolutely hilarious. Ya'll are practically tracking the headwinds on the cargo planes bringing your new phones over while red in the face that you have to wait. Apple would be wise to just remove tracking information from these shipments just to calm you down.

FWIW, the same sentiments are found on many other devices, even Teslas. Ive watched people cancel their month long orders for a new car in spite because they didn't like waiting.

Mark my words...all of you will get your devices, all will be right in the world, and within minutes of seeing that UPS driver pull up, you wont ever visit these forums again. Until next Fall. ha ha! :p

Moral of the story? Take a big deep breath. Its a phone. Its probably closer to the previous version than any other new release out there. Its new to you, I get it. But take a big deep breath. It will all be okay. You made the right decision.

Finally departed to Incheon! Estimated delivery on 10/7. May catch a quick bus home from my trip to receive package and then return to the convention I’m working (which means after setup, I’ll be able to sell my 12PM for a bit of extra spending money during the trip)

Mine is rolling through, today could be the day! It left Anchorage 4:16 PM yesterday local time, to Louisville KY arrived 1:18 AM today. Left there 4:37 AM this morning, now in Baltimore MD 6:01 AM. Looks like a delivery today is a definite possibility! I think now I can stop worrying about it getting here at start worrying about it being dinged/scratched/mfg defects etc. 😂😂😂 </OCD>

PS - Apple status has never changed, front screen of the store app shows October 11, and tapping on details shows Oct 6-11. Once something ships, I follow/believe UPS only, not the company shipping it - that's second-hand information at that point.

Mine was on import scan in KY earlier this morning. A few minutes ago I checked and now it says there’s a delay and it should be delivered tomorrow.

What’s the general consensus on whether UPS will leave the package at our home if no one is there to receive it?

BRAVO!!!!

Thanks for the info!
But was anyone home? I don’t think a signature is required, but I didn’t know if someone must be there to accept the package or not.
Yes. However, my wife's they just left it on the porch but rang the bell. My son's was just put on the porch and they never rang the bell. If it weren't for my ring camera I would not know that it was even out there.

Well said, but at the same time commiserating with new iphone purchasers is fun. Obsessing over which flight is fun and tracking as well. But it is just a nice smart phone and life will indeed go on. I do not have local apple store to buy at and do trade ins on IUP so ordering online is only way to go and then I found this place and its like standing in line for a few days/weeks with other purchasers I guess LOL.

Well my journey is complete as a member of the 10/6 to 10/11 group. Got the first early batch (arrived on 9/30 for me) Hope all yours get here soon it appears they are trickling in on various shipments. Just got my trade in notice today from apple. My trade in was accepted, phone passed and old loan canceled now on to a year with my 13 1TB ProMax!

And we shall see what the 14 offers next year ;-). Lots of things I wanted in my 13 ProMax 1) I now have the 1TB option I had hoped for in my 12 ProMax giving me much more storage for my photography. 2) The macro lens which saves me the hassle of pulling out my adaptor for the macro to fit my current DSLR. 3) For me a much improved camera for day to day photography on the go. 4) As I hoped in my case— a better 5G modem from Qualcomm that is doing better in the weak cell signal area around my house than last years 5G on my 12 ProMax (but a big improvement from the intel modem which did poorly in my yard). 5) even better night mode photography that I am loving. 6) Better zoom now at 3X and above a nice incremental increase for me and my camera. 7) The promotion screen is definitely and improvement (well at least nice evolution) for me and finally, 8) the battery life is a big improvement over my 12 ProMax which some days had me down to under 20% by mid afternoon, now I am at 75-80% when I put on charger in evening after dark.

So yes maybe smartphone’s are now matured, plateaued ect. But for the uses I put my iPhones through this is a series of important evolutionary improvements. Hope you all enjoy yours and for those of this group still waiting may your phones arrive this week rather than the end of that 10/11 date period.

Mine was supposed to be delivered today however it just now got to Incheon, Korea. UPS moved the delivery date to Friday 10/8, but there is no way it gets here to California from Korea in 2 days right? Lol.

I admire the balance in perspective.

My experience is that from Korea on it gets here pretty close if not right on the UPS date. It should be to Louisville by late tonight probably half hour past midnight on the UPS99 that seems to be hauling these batches. The import scan is an hour later and then depending on where you are and where UPS has to send your phone to get to you locally they have been getting many (not all ) of our phones to us by time for the truck that day, often flying rather than trucking like previous years. Some have had plane issues in that last leg delaying by day but most of time UPS delivers on the date you now are seeing, pretty much 24 hours give or take from Korea now you are out of the 4 plus day black hole in China we see our phones wait in.

The drivers are *supposed* to get a signature if the shipper specified this requirement, but many have so many stops to make they simply drop and run. If the shipper specified "Direct Signature Required" and nobody is home, the procedure is to leave a tag on your door. "Indirect Signature Required" means you can sign the door tag and leave it in place. On the next attempt to deliver the driver can take that signed door tag and leave the package.

The reality is a lot of drivers are new, or don't care, and don't even look at the label. Their scanner will prompt them for a signature but they're used to just tapping the screen to dismiss the warning. I spoke to a UPS driver in my town while he was at a business stop and he said, "Dude, these Apple release days are a nightmare! I'm loaded with these things." These drivers are all under the gun, being timed and monitored, so they're in no mood to do everything by the book. They just want to finish their routes and go back to the station. They're gonna do it all again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next...

If you look at the order details on Apple, it states "In response to COVID-19, our shipping partners are providing no-contact delivery." I am guessing that means a drop and run delivery with no sig.
