Got an email that my order has shipped. Yay!! Found out its my silicone case and not my iPhone 13 PM. Boo!!

As per UPS there has been no movement on my phone since 10/1, released by the 'gummint but still sitting somewhere far far away. Like cheese, or a fine wine, they appear to be letting it age. I'm getting flashbacks of an older brother holding my toy above my head just out of reach. They're taunting me. :)

Congrats, I am glad to see you are finally getting some movement. I just checked mine again and it hasn't moved and now UPS has changed the expected date to "Check back tomorrow for an updated delivery date." I will surprised if it is here by the end of the week.
My order showed that same status last night, hopefully that means your phone will be leaving China tomorrow.

I just looked at my orders on Apple and noticed it says "Arrives on multiple dates." Has anyone ever seen this before. Maybe Apple has decided to ship me the parts and instructions to build my own phone.
Maybe it's the return box if you're on AUP?

No I am not doing the upgrade program. I do have a trade-in box that is coming today that has it's own tracking number. Hopefully my phone comes in time to set everything up before I need to send my old phone in...and before I throw the old one at the wall due the crazy shipping issues.

Are they just using one airplane to ship from zz right now ? These delays make no sense

This is my opinion and experience for the post opening day groups. I was in the. 10/6- 10/11 group for my 1TB graphite ProMax.

On evening of opening day — 9/24 - my phone changed to preparing to ship. Early in morning of 9/25 (which I only saw at breakfast) it had shipped, done all the moving around to local facilities, went to the customs site, got approved and then arrived ready to transport to the destination. It then sat for 4 days without a movement. I went through the estimated UPS arrival (Apple stayed with my conservative original 10/6-10/11 date) on Tuesday 9/29 but then on 29th never arrived still in China and UPS stayed with estimated 9/28 til I went to bed.

Then next morning the 29th it had left China finally with that key word of “departure) went through Korea, Anchorage and arrived in Louisville about 12:30 AM EDT on the 30th. UPS had my phone arriving on the 30th and apple had changed to that. The phone got its import scan around hour later, and another hour had left Louisville. I am about 3.5 to 4 hours from Louisville to where I am in east central Illinois. Usually during day they truck it, takes the day with stops along way including Indianapolis and Danville Illinois. Then it goes to Decatur Illinois for night and leaves early in morning for my location back between Decatur and Danville. Well this time since it was early in am they flew it to Decatur in hour plus, sent it back NE to my town by 6:30 Am, and it was out for delivery by 9 Am on 9/30, got it by 11:30 Am that date.

So now to my own opinions as to what is going on from reading. You may have heard how shipping containers are backed up at ports in China as well as west Coast of US. Major distribution shipping issues cropping up. Concerns for certain items not getting into our US distribution chain. And I read the also what some customers of what is normally in the shipping containers were doing. They started contracting for planes out of china to ship some items and the amount of planes available was short there.

My guess it that first the 4 to more days delays with our various batches of phones that have been shipped, arrived or on way is that this shortage of planes has made an issue for UPS. For example I usually can figure out with flightaware app (or others do) the plane out of China that is going to Korea. I could not ever figure that out. It just departed and showed up in Korea a few hours later. So it is only my guess that UPS is using one of the rare flights to ship accumulated pallets every few days. So that results in some groups sitting longer than 4 days that mine did.

Then however it magically leaves China to Korea it then ends up on the UPS99 flight that leaves there in morning to arrive in Anchorage at half hour past noon. Sits for 4 hours then goes to Louisville and then our phones go by truck or plane to us in North America depending on where we are.

I know when they have opening day phones there always is a number of planes, including UPS ones involved in their process. But now that this initial rush is over the batches are gathers in some manner at the airport which is just down the road from the Foxconn factory in ZhengZhou. Mine sat for 4 days till they got a flight out. Others are experiencing similar delays and others much longer. Not sure why some who arrive waiting at airport get bypassed by others who come later that seems weird. Unless it has something to do with the size of groups of phones in the pallets and what space the limited available planes have. This is totally speculative on my part based on the shortages of planes I mentioned in response to the shipping containers mess. Take it for what its worth. Not pleasant for you if your batch takes longer I know, I hated the 4 days wait LOL

UPDATE: I also forgot another piece I learned while waiting in China. I looked at UPS site and found one of the warnings like you see with weather delay issues. It was in regards to Covid-19 delays. The gist of it was UPS was delaying shipments from key places in China 4-5 business days. Not sure if that applied to our pallets accumulating at airport but it might have been another issue.

I'm sure there is at least some truth in your guess. I guess they don't use the FIFO (first in first out) method when shipping the phones out...otherwise why are some of us waiting a long time while some so to come in go while we are waiting.

I have movement! Real movement this time, and of the iPhone - not my silicone case. UPS is in the process of updating and now reports my 13 Pro Max is in Shanghai. Are any shipments made directly from Shanghai, or must my package to through Korea?

Well for the post opening day shipments it seems most (all??) go through China where the now famous UPS99 takes the journey out of Korea to Anchorage and then Louisville. Most of the phones I noticed people discussing have been out of ZhengZhou airport down road from Foxconn factory but they are shipping a few from Shanghai also and there are other factories working on the 13 production now as they wind down 12 production to smaller amounts

Mine has made it to a delivery vehicle this morning, but it appears the truck hasn’t moved.

Here’s to hoping it’ll get out the door yet today or I guess tomorrow.

Shipping in these times is just wacky all the way around.

This may be plane carrying phone to west coast. Fingers crossed.

Anybody stuck in ZZ since 9/28/2021?

Last status is..

09/28/2021
11:06 P.M.
On the Way
Your package is in transit. We're updating plans to schedule your delivery. / The package will be forwarded to a UPS facility in the destination city.
ZhengZhou, China
Yeah, mine shipped 9/29... Apple said 10/6 for delivery so it still has a day, but UPS originally said it would be here 10/1 but stayed at this message. Then it said it would update the next day, it updated to Monday 10/4, yesterday afternoon it said it would update the delivery date tomorrow....and it has yet to do that.

My first experience buying directly from Apple.......

Here’s my mess. Like a lot of others here, the delivery date has changed almost daily but it seems that it’s not even cleared China yet since last Thursday

God - I know it was never really actually a thing, but I do miss the theory of the live view of where your stuff is.

I'm SURE it lead to major issues with people chasing down drivers, but this "it could be here between this vast 4 hour window" stuff just SUCKS.

But to be fair, it's coming today - And I have to be beyond thankful for that, especially considering how it was bouncing around the last few days.

I just want UPS to get here so I can get it set up and I can mentally rest because I feel like I’ve been running a bloody marathon =/

All this over a phone, although I guess it’s fair that at least I’m excited by it. This is my nerd Christmas I suppose!

My phone had a nice vacation today, left ZZ China local time 4:55 PM, left Korea 11:31 PM, and then arrived in Anchorage AK, good ole US of A at 12:23 PM local time! Supposedly it will be delivered tomorrow! Can it get from AK to Louisville to Maryland for delivery by tomorrow?

For sure it can and will. Mine was basically on the same path yesterday, and it’s due to arrive literally any time now. It’s relatively quick to go from AK, to KY to wherever you’re located.

Mine went from from KY to BC Canada over the span of about 4 or 5 hours. When it was pending release again from customs this morning I was sure it wasn’t going to be today, but man this stuff goes QUICKLY once things get moving.

Apparently Shanghai customs had been shut down due Covid and work restrictions at customs for weeks, so I'm sure this is also contributing to these excessive delays
