So what do you think are the other two scans later than arrival at 5:20 over next two hours all about. I am curious what just sitting there sounds like shipping but yeah no movement after that would imply your conclusion. Kind of loosing hope it comes tomorrow not having a specified guarantee of a day is hard for us. My wife loves to to substitute TA work in schools but now has to be here all week when I go to get grandson after school in afternoons M-W so she is not thrilled with being held hostage to another package LOL. More often it is my packages of fossil trilobites coming via USPS which tracking (takes two days from friend in California) is generally more up to date and informative (except once in transit to east central Illinois when it is shipping to next destination but the times are consistently another day at that point for 2 day packages).

I know there were lots of tracking data snafus on Friday and UPS is shipping lots of phones not just mine wonder if they have the same issues? Curious of the volumes after the 9/24 opening day shipments that UPS handles

7:10 P.M. Your package is in transit. We're updating plans to schedule your delivery. / The package will be forwarded to a UPS facility in the destination city.

After that arrival scan it just sits there, it still needs to go through the paperwork and once that is cleared, which you got, it will then be loaded onto a plan. Right now it's probably sitting on the tarmac but not on the plan yet.

For my launch day delivery, I had that same scan after the arrival scan and in a few days afterward it departed.

I now believe the week after launch deliveries has largely been used for fulfillments of those that got caught up in the iup debacle (as it should be). As for the rest of us with the 10/6-10/11 range… well, the second half of this week should start to get very interesting on this thread, as that will be our time to shine!

Wonder if they wait for particular flight or enough pallets to fill a scheduled cargo plane always curious to see the logistics and not see everything going on.

Hope so was in at 5 past hour and by time I re-entered card info that I had already entered on the preapproval couple days earlier it had slipped to this date. Mine is showing shipped and has cleared Chinese paperwork but at that point probably on pallets at airport waiting for enough to send or something. Says it arrives tomorrow but I am not sure that will be the case now that nothing showed today in movement from that point.

It’s amazing what can happen in 24 hours with an iPhone shipment. If it has shipped and it says delivery is tomorrow, you’ll get it tomorrow.

Yes I agree they usually do this. Yep it says shipped and delivers tomorrow so hopefully no issues come up. UPS is good but not 100% things come up beyond even their control. I was in a shipment that almost got delayed by typhoon in Taiwan which was a stop with that phone before Anchorage but it still made it LOL

@rjjacobson I'm more convinced today that Lew Later was correct about the iPhone Pro Max being delayed (inventory shortage) after seeing a few posts on other threads. I've searched for other models apart from the Pro & Pro Max & got hits for availability. I see no availability for the Pro & Pro Max whatsoever.

I wonder how many of us who were in that first half hour of opening and got this date got the shift to shipping. I only heard of a couple others on here who got shipped or preparing to ship in past several days. Like someone said this morning though they are betting more activity soon this week for some of us on this date range

As far as the ups end of it goes, keep in mind the client, iPhone launches are apples Super Bowls. As you said, even natural disasters have little impact. If those phones aren’t delivered on time, apple will and has switched carriers.

I had wondered about that, if that is why it surprisingly changed to "shipping". I did have a WTF conversation with an Apple Store representative after my preorder issues with the order I had carefully prepared as recommended.

The strangest thing about this earlier shipment was the Apple Store notification that said "shipped" before the phone had arrived in Louisville. I've never seen that before.

Interesting that UPS My Choice, while still not reporting a departure scan out of ZhengZhou, says that it will be at my house in as few as 22 hours from now... . That while saying for some days now that the package has been released by the Chinese government agency.

The mystery continues to unfold! Hopefully in the next few hours!

I have seen this several times over IUP seasons. Sometimes the whole rest of shipping never populates until Louisville and sometimes it never fully populates until I get my phone. I think the randomness of when pallets get scanned or not sometimes affects the missing info, or the computer system is bogged down and scanning is fubar

Starting to wonder if mine will make it by the expected delivery date on tomorrow...according to this, it hasn't even been scanned by any facility since leaving China

Mine is almost same scan info as your except the release occurred late morning on the 25th China time. I have seen this happen with all scans from there to Louisville or even later not populating til delivery day. We shall see

Yep I am now wondering same. If it were really here today in town and had gone thru Louisville we would see updated info at least for that. I think the shipping problems out of china affecting other shipping has hit us and apple. I would be surprised to see it show up even though UPS still says arrives today, Apple has sent all emails regarding my phone (applecare, the loan/amount mail ect). Something is wrong

Well here is supposed arrival day for the phone still no tracking since China departure scans. If the phone is in town for delivery today (east central Illinois) I would expect Louisville (with customs) and local scans. But there is nothing. I think Apple and UPS have issues with shipping this batch. Of course apple since it shipped said Friday October 1 not today but follow closer tracking with UPS — what a joke this is getting to be with UPS.

I have concluded that UPS shipping (computer tracking, pallets sitting waiting in China and no movement noted to Louisville at least, etc ) is fubar!!! Something is wrong and I do not believe my phone will arrive today otherwise I would expect to see the customs tracking at Louisville, departure from same, some kind of local scan my phone is here (we are just few hours from Louisville). So unless the whole tracking is not working at UPS even inside US, then the phones did not leave china. And my trade in box arrives tomorrow and is tracking fine (also UPS not FedEx this year) which means some of tracking is working or all in US and the phones really have not left China. Grrrrrrrrrr I cannot sit around and wait for this, we are being held hostage by piss poor tracking service.

This is what my shipped tracking has said since early Saturday:

From your previous experience with pre-orders, which one is most accurate...Apple or UPS?

It depends. I remember for the 12 and 12 Pro pre-orders last year October, all the tracking said was that it would deliver on Wednesday (two days early ahead of it's actual launch) but it eventually corrected itself to be delivered on Friday.

I would say, I would lean more towards apple.com on this one.

Generally UPS is more accurate. Apple often has a conservative date, even original date (even though shipped sometimes). But the scanning on UPS can get fubar real fast and updates end after China, miss Anchorage and do not show till Louisville and not update til I have my phone. This time its worse as I my 10/6 to 10/11 phone suddenly shipped on early Saturday with tracking like yours. Apple moved to same date as yours but said check UPS and the UPS tracking is stuck with leaving China with paperwork and all done, but nothing since like this below. I think that this group of phones is stuck in China and I will be surprised if they arrive otherwise there would be local scans and Louisville scans. I am getting my return box for old phone also via UPS not the usual FedEx and that is tracking and arriving tomorrow so tracking in US is working but I do not thinking our phones are here in US
