Apparently, Apple can't (or won't) build a phone without a huge annoying bezel.
I hate big phones. The perfect size for me in terms of width was the first iPhone.
Unfortunately, they also made the #1 item on my wish list only available on the huge, one-hand unfriendly plus size phone.

My questions is for anybody that used the 6/6S+ for the last year or 2. Did you get used to it? Would you replace it with the standard size? How many plus users switched to standard size later on?

Would thank any input.

Love the + size; I came from a 5 and now have a 6s+. I cannot imagine going back to the normal size; my DH has a 5s and it seems teeny.

The plus seems huge at first, almost comical, but after a few hours with it, the size is great.

I went from 6+ to 6S to now 7+. You get used to it and if you type a lot on it you'll miss it if you return to the normal size. That's why I opted for the 7+ again, I type on it a lot writing code in Pythonista. Looking to go back to the larger size for the keyboard mainly.

For phone use it doesn't matter either way. It's just a slab you hold to your ear. I never noticed a different between either one for comfort other than the + size being a bit silly feeling when talking on it.

If you have small sized hands on up to medium, it can be a challenge to use at times. For regular to large sized hands, it should be no problem. I can one hand 95% of what I do without needing to change my grip, use reachability, etc.

I've had all of the iPhone sizes! I went from a 6 plus to a SE and either way is fine, the crazy thing is that I didn't think I'd get used to a small phone again, but the SE is great! Now the situation is reversed! I'm going back to a plus with this new phone!

It's an adjustment but if you like the features I'd say give it a try!

You get used to it, but I would always think that the phone was definitely difficult to carry around. I went from the 6 plus to the regular 6s and the size reduction was nice, but at the end of the day I missed the larger screen and longer battery life. Also, I believe the 7plus has 3gb of RAM compared to 2gb in the 7. I placed my preorder for the 7plus.

The plus definitely is a two handed phone so just make sure one handed use isn't too important to you.

lol...these threads come up every launch :)

Personally, I've used the plus since release, and I couldn't imagine a smaller phone at this point. Everything from emails to browsing to games and movies, I think the screen is a good size for such uses.

Having my 6plus phone for about two years now I absolutely love it and would never go back to a smaller screen. ;) . Also fits in my pocket with no issues. ( depending how tight your jeans are )

I had the 6+, then went to the 6s. IMO, it's better sized for a phone. Fits in my pockets better, including gym shorts. The Plus had to be carried around the gym.

However, I ordered the 7+. Just wanted to try out the new camera. I'm betting I'll go back to the smaller size next year. One of the nice perks of T-Mobile's Jump! On Demand program.

Edit to add: I almost always have my iPad with me and do any reading or movie watching on it.

If you're short or like to wear tight pants (and especially if BOTH is true) then pocket logistics might be a challenge. But, if you're average height or taller then odds are it'll be something you get used to, and eventually prefer, fairly quickly. If you're older and your near-vision is getting a bit sketchy then the extra screen real-estate is a real treat.

Never going back to a smaller phone. The added screen real estate and extra battery are a must for me, even more so now with the camera on the 7 plus.

Its a little awkward to use sometimes with 1 hand but it's really not meant for one handed use.

I got the 6+ it was okay after first. But I got sick and tired of it pretty quick. I didn't mind using it, but carrying it around was a pain for me. I am 5'1" with small hands and I have to use a 6 or 6+ with two hands so that didn't really matter for me. I also don't carry a purse, so its just female pants pockets for me (which are pretty much worthless.) Rocking a 6 now with a 7 on preorder.

Screen size – Great

Battery –Great

Reading – Great

Writing – Great

Watching movies – Great

Being productive – Great

Pocketability – Bad

One handed use - Bad
I agree but I would rank the last 2 as poor to acceptable.
Pocketability depends on what you are wearing (i.e. tight jeans vs loos slacks with big pockets) and your gender as my wife pointed out, most women's clothing don't have pockets or if they do they are very small. (she opted for a plus and loves it BTW).
One-handed use is dependent on your hand size, dexterity, and also on what you are trying to do on the phone. If I want to just pull up an app like to read news or check Facebook, no problem. If I want to type or actually post to Facebook, two hands are going to be needed.

OP, I initially got the iPhone 6 because I thought the Plus was too big. After about 3 months I found myself wanting more. So I got a 6 Plus and haven't looked back since. For me the bigger screen is more important than one-handed usability. I have normal-sized hands and I can still type one-handed (albeit with some strain and shifting of the phone in my hand). But that's the whole point: for ME, the Plus offers much more than it limits. I'm definitely excited about the reports of the smaller/nonexistent bezel on the iPhone 8, but in the meantime I'm perfectly happy with the Plus.

I have a plus and one handed use no too bad as it you double tap the home button the apps drop down so can reach the top ones.

most apps drop down too!

I love big phones and it is actually better than my s7 edge!

I'd never go back to the smaller size. yes, it doesn't fit in my pants pocket as easily. but as I've gotten older the eyes ain't what they used to be. Everything is just clearer and more functional. Going back isn't an option anymore.

Wait next year when they're rumored to ditch the home button in the 2017/10th anniversary iPhone and they'll likely reduce the footprint of the iPhone.

When that happens, many Plus owners will look back and say "Damn, how did I put up with that unwielding iPhone?"

That's just the thing. Everything feels "too small" or "two big" until it's been your daily driver for a while.
