Honestly, the Plus is beautiful because it's just the right size. Finally, an iOS phone screen that's big enough to really enjoy the interface and get real things done.
Do you really get more work done on a Plus than a 4.7 iPhone? I thought I would too when I got my 6S plus, but I used it in exactly the same way I used my 6. Some things were a bit nicer like browsing the web and reading, but only by a minimal amount. It's not like it's an iPad. I never use landscape mode, so those features didn't end up mattering to me, and really the interface seemed too cramped on the 5.5 in landscape mode to be worthwhile.

I just find some people like the big screen because it's big, and also have a perception the camera is so much better on the plus which really isn't that true with the 7 models. I'll be gladly going back to the 7 from the 6S+, and giving my hands and pockets a break.

If Apple can reduce the footprint of the 5.5 next year, I'll reconsider it. Right now it's too surfboard like.

Totally agree. I am hard pressed to think of anything I do on my Plus that I wouldn't be able to do on the regular size iPhone. If I have real word processing to do or need to write a really long important email, I still go to my mac or PC to do so. Sure, pictures, videos, and web pages are a little bigger on the Plus, but I am looking forward to giving that up for the increased portability. Not saying everyone is in the same boat as me, but that's where I'm at.

I agree, the plus is only marginally nicer for things like browsing the web and watching videos, but significantly more of a hinderance in the pocket and hand. You're giving up mobility for a marginal improvement in media consumption. I really think the Plus is mainly directed at Asian markets where they love really big phones and use bags a lot more.

Yes. I edit a lot of photos on it, to name just one way it's more useful.

If you are a big photog, that is certainly one reason to go with the Plus. Better camera and more screen real estate to edit photos. I am not - I like having a decent enough camera for photos, but it's not personally something I care about much more beyond that.
