pod2g update via his blog

I'm dieing; just updated my ipad2 from a perfect Jailbroken 4.3.3 to stock 5.0.1. UGH. Along with my iphone4s...I'm got a SERIOUS case of JB Withdraw going on.
 
I remember the time geohot said, when black/purplera1n was trending on twitter he would release it.
 
I kept myself from checking this thread for about 24 hours in hopes that when I refreshed I'd have a pleasant surprise... :(
 
I really think that this weekend will be the time...I think they will release it sunday maybe even tomorrow. Like someone said a few posts up, it would suck if they released it when 5.1 was out and we had to restore for some reason after jailbreaking. Basically we would have waited this whole time for nothing. Who else thinks it will be out in the next 48 hours?


Also where do you guys think there will be the first info on the release- twitter, pod2g's blog? Which site do you keep refreshing?

Maybe a JB and unlock at the same time.
 
I just think musclenerd means the overall process has not been quick, not necessarily that it wont be out quickly from now

I'm the one who posted that earlier- and that is my only real concern. I'm going to be very generous with what I install from cydia and make sure it's compatible with iOS 5 so I can make sure and avoid any situations that might call for a restore.

I have jailbroken a whole, whole lot of iPhones and while 9 times our of 10 there won't be a single problem, it can happen no matter how much experience you have. Hopefully with this comes some sort of downgrade path.
 
Well, at least there is a little bit of breathing room.. With the Siri relationship bug being reported in 5.1b3(reported here at MR), we know that there will at least be a 5.1b4 coming down the pipe. That may be sometime early-mid next week. Unless they come out with a 5.0.2 tonight, I doubt there will be much work, if any at all, on 5.0.x until 5.1 comes out.

dumb question but wouldn't they just patch it in the GM release?
 
So this weekend is the consensus it seems... That'd be great. I wont hold my breath but you never know..

I was actually referring to the signing period for 5.0.1. If 5.1b3 were actually a good release, the GM would have been imminent. But it isn't the case with this bug; going through another beta release prolongs the signing time for 5.0.1.

Either way, the exploit for the jailbreak the 'dream team' is using is patched in 5.1b3, so we are under a race against time for the signing availability for 5.0.1.

I will be truly saddened if the JB isn't released before 5.1/5.0.2 gets here. I've actually let my wife use my 4S and I've been using her JB'd 4 for abou 2 days now and loving it.

Probably after this weekend she won't give it back... :)

My guess is either today or funday, the mood among the Dev's is pretty good, no stress anymore.

With newer devises it might get longer and longer

Also is it just me, or does it seem like jailbreaks are released late at night, at least with reguards to eastern standered time?

@diaa770 When it's done and *fully* tested; be patient :) Rush jobs lead to mistakes, which are *very* expensive on A5 right now.
