Usually, the first release is buggy. Then they release a couple patches.

THEN it's nice and stable.


As long as you stay on 5.0.1 there's no need to rush to install the jailbreak.

Best to just wait till it hits the masses and has a couple days to soak in.

I always view the initial release of a Jailbreak as an unofficial "Public Beta".

i think the extensive testing right now though is due to the fact that the team knows there IS no restoring back with tinyumbrellas. so, they really are making sure it works well this time.

Are you me? Haha... I do the same thing, give it a few days to see how well it works with everyone else and to see if there will be patches before I take the plunge myself. Although, the times that I have jailbroken right away everything has gone fine as well. I'll probably wait at least a day or two with this one for the 4S.

I mean sure. Often a new update is released shortly after, but in my experience, no initial version has been "so bad" that it forced my phone to become inoperable. I just would install the fixes via cydia or redsn0w. Really easy.

Yeah i agree, ive never had an issue with any inital release of a jailbreak. I mean im sure some updates made it smoother but never did the inital make my phone need a restore ever.

I def agree, however I wouldn't be surprised if they had some way to roll back. Given how much time they have actually had the JB, I'm thinking that they are going to release something unexpected with this. Idk what, but something. Well I for one, knew nothing about the blackout until I read it on here. I'm guessing today is just another day it WON'T go live. I've continued to be an optimist about this, however today I'm just being a realist about it. I've ended probably 20 post like this, here's to hoping.

Eager Beaver flew south for the winter i guess is the nice way of putting it.

I honestly think some people believed he did have access to it because they are so desperate to Jailbreak they will cling on to any hope they can find.

As for why he got banned probably for claiming he had something he did not and just generally being a trouble maker etc.

His posts never bothered me because every forum i visit has plenty of Eager Beavers and you just get used to it .

Well judging by the fact that things are updated in Cydia, the iPad 2 is running a public version of cydia it seems, and everything points to it being ready, We are about as close as it gets without it actually being released.

can you imagine the server hit that is going to take place once it is live? Man, i'm constantly checking Tweetbot and Reeder. I have Pod2g's and the iPhone Dev Team's blog both going to Reeder as RSS feeds.
