Anyone needing the unlock would obviously stay at 5.0 that much is obvious as it is the only one announced to handle the unlock.

There is a slight/small/slim chance it will work on 5.01 ver 94A05 but yeah if you need the unlock sooner rather then later stay on 5.0.

Say if you lose your iphone, pay insurance to get another phone, etc etc.. [I have verizon btw]...

say 5.1 comes out in February, and I lose my JB iphone 4s in March... will the replacement have 5.0, or will they likely have all of the newer devices on 5.1?

I hate asking a million questions, but I couldnt technically ask that in the search.

By then your chances of finding a phone with older firmware just become slimmer and slimmer.

Its always certainly possible to find devices with older firmware but yeah it is a pain.

And you NEVER want to activate the new phone in the store cause the 1st thing they'll do is update it. Bring it home sealed in the box and activate it yourself without updating.

usbmuxd maintainer and libimobiledevice contributor @pimskeks is who is primarily writing the actual jailbreak app, which is not done yet.

So it won't be today, or probably even Thursday. I'd say the weekend at the earliest.

It does not have to be a PDF exploit. As long as the exploit can be injected through Safari, jailbreakme is possible.

My replacement 4S just got here today and it has 5.0 on it. I called apple at 6pm yesterday and today at 10:00am I had my replacement talk about great service. I'm pretty sure in store swapping will have 5.0.1 on it.
