And I wish someone would explain to me what all the hubbub over "wiggle room" is. I don't get it. Update your phone to 5.0.1 NOW and stop worrying about it. Unless you need the unlock...then I can see it. But, if you don't need the unlock, then update your phone. Why are people cutting it close with updating to 5.0.1??? From the horses' mouth, we've been told.
Probably more important to a JB user on an Ipad 2 (4.3.3), not sure it's that important to 4s users (unlock issues aside).
I agree here. If you dont need to Unlock then update. I restored and setup as new last Friday in prep for the release. i'm about as ready as i can be.
I found that my runaway battery drain was due to push email accounts that were restored from a backup. Manually deleting all the accounts on the iPhone and setting them up fresh cleared it up. The same thing happened a few years back with a restore after limerain, and that's how I learned that push email could get unwieldy and create a hot iPhone.
I understand what ur saying about using the computer...its not a necessity but it is cool....the wiggle room I'm talking about is after we jailbreak god forbid we need to restore because a app didn't agree with out phones we can if 5.1 isn't out yet. once 5.1 is out we have to be very careful what we install and what we try to do because if you need to restore your going to lose your jailbreak. I agree though if you haven't updated yet your playing with fire, if you want a JB of coarse

In the android market there is a twitter app that allows you to be allirted when certain people tweet. I'm trying to find one like it in the app store. My other option make a alternate account just to fallow Dev members etc.

Thats why i feel as the days past and there is no jailbreak its just means less room we are going to have. plus i am impatient lol
labman, what Android twitter app are you speaking of? I use Boxcar on my 4S to be alerted when certain people tweet, but I've yet to find a good twitter app for my GSII. I adore TweetBot, but unfortunately, they don't support Android. Any help would be appreciated!

Would it not be possible to restore to a 5.0.1 IPSW saved on your computers hardrive using Blobs saved with either Cydia or Tiny Umbrella?
Regarding the phone possibly crashing and stuff like that....does anyone know if you would be able to use ifile to possible SSH into the phone and maybe clear out what might be the issue? Is it possible to SSH if the phone is in a boot loop?
At the moment, it's not possible with 4S. You can save the blobs but you can't do anything with it, yet!

I have been calm up until yesterday when the whole which 5.01 thing came about plus only 3 hours sleep the night before sure did not help the matter. For a moment yesterday i felt like jbarresi19 does all the time .
The lack of sleep though was not due to the Jailbreak lol.

The only real issue with doing it that way is that I tend to go back and forth between my 4S and GSII. On my 4S, I've got Boxcar set up to notify me when a certain person/people tweet, so if I did it that way, I would technically get double notifications. But, if I set it up through twitter, then I could remove that provision in Boxcar and problem solved.

Its sucks doesn't it? Im like that every day, including today which i feel will be the day. If not I hope someone updates us and tells us something and not just a tease with a video or picture

Let me look when I get home. I have a HP touchpad running android. It's at home I just found it the other day. To be honest I haven't tried it yet. I love Tweetbot too, I haven't really found one I like for android yet.

So you're saying you download something "dodgy" from Cydia, and it stops your phone from booting, so you have to restore?
There's no risk of loosing all the data, you can just restore? All you loose is the JB b/c you can't JB 5.1 when it's released?
Yes why i am asking if you you download something that messes with your phone and lets say you are in a boot loop normally you would just restore. But after 5.1 comes out you are not going to want to because you will lose your jailbreak. I wonder if you would be able to SSH into your phone and try removing whatever it was that was causing the problem? I just am not sure if you would be able to SSH into a phone that was not fully booting. Anyone know or have experience with this?
